KCSB 91.9FM Santa Barbara
KCSB-FM (91.9 FM) is a non-commercial, educational radio station located on the UC Santa Barbara campus. KCSB is designed to be educational for both programmers and listeners. UCSB students and other programmers are provided an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of radio broadcasting, both technically and in terms of broadcast content, and to explore more advanced aspects of broadcasting and the audio medium. The station has a range that reaches as far south as Los Angeles County and as far north as San Luis Obispo, California. History KCSB was started by student Bill Harrison as ''Navajo Radio,'' named for Navajo Hall, a 2nd floor wing in the Anacapa men's dormitory from which it began broadcasting in 1962, broadcasting 3 – 4 hours of daily programming to the UCSB dorms at 5 watts. Santa Barbara ( es, Santa Bárbara, meaning "Saint Barbara") is a coastal city in Santa Barbara County, California, of which it is also the county seat. Zan Stewart (born March 29, 1944) is an American jazz writer, musician and former disc jockey. Life and career Born in Los Angeles, California, Stewart is the son of Cassius Lynford Stewart (1907–1997) and Elizabeth LeGrange Wilbur Stewart (1904–1992). KTMS (990 AM, "News Talk AM 990") is a commercial radio station in Santa Barbara, California. It is owned by Rincon Broadcasting and airs a talk radio format. KTMS is simulcast on FM translator station K250BS at 97.9 MHz, licensed to Solimar Beach and broadcasting from KTMS' AM transmitter site, overlooking Santa Barbara from near Rattlesnake Canyon Park, along Gibraltar Road, and above Gibraltar Peak, home of most Santa Barbara FM stations. Edie Lambert
Edie Lambert (born November 26, 1968) is a well-known TV journalist in Sacramento. She currently anchors the 5 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm newscasts on KCRA reports. Career Lambert joined KCRA in July 1995 as a reporter and morning anchor. Later she became the weekend anchor with Ron Jones (now at KOVR), until 2002. Then she anchored with Kevin Riggs on the weekend evening editions of the newscast. In early 2006, she switched positions to anchor the 6 and 11pm newscast with John Alston. Webcasting
A webcast is a media presentation distributed over the Internet using streaming media technology to distribute a single content source to many simultaneous listeners/viewers.
