KCHUNG Radio
KCHUNG is a freeform radio station in the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles as KChung Radio 1630 AM. KCHUNG broadcasts over 200 shows a month on 1630 AM and online through the station's website. The station operates according to what are generally known as the Part 15 rules, which cover very-low-power RF transmissions without a license. History KCHUNG Radio was started by Solomon Bothwell in 2011. Harsh Patel created the initial graphic design, and Luke Fischbeck helped with programming. The station's first broadcast was in March 2011. KCHUNG has hosted many artists, musicians, poets, and has a reputation for hosting programming that might not be allowed on other stations. Chinatown, Los Angeles
Chinatown is a neighborhood in Downtown Los Angeles, California, that became a commercial center for Chinese and other Asian businesses in Central Los Angeles in 1938. The area includes restaurants, shops, and art galleries, but also has a residential neighborhood with a low-income, aging population of about 20,000 residents. The original Los Angeles Chinatown developed in the late 19th century, but it was demolished to make room for Union Station, the city's major ground-transportation center. John Burtle
John Burtle (born in 1984) is an American artist who works in performance, Public Art, sculpture, and broadcast media. The artist lives in Los Angeles, often changes the spelling of their name, and frequently works with in groups . Work Burtle's work questions how people support themselves and others. He has regularly collaborated with others and also makes art individually. The subject matter of his sculptures and paintings ranges from gifts of affection such as flowers and candies to symbols of social groups: a school of fish, birds nest. Canadian artist-run centres (ARC or ARCs) are galleries and art spaces developed by artists in Canada since the 1960s. Fiona Connor
Fiona Connor (born 1981) is a visual artist from New Zealand, currently based in Los Angeles. Education Fiona Connor was born in 1981 in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2004 she graduated from the Elam School of Fine Arts with a BFA/BA. She has also studied at the University of California, San Diego and University of Barcelona and has an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. She is currently based in Los Angeles. Work Connor often replicates everyday objects in her sculptural installations. Jason Dill (born November 21, 1976) is an American professional skateboarder, photographer, and co-founder of Fucking Awesome—an American skate company. Early life Dill was born in Huntington Beach, California, Huntington Beach, California, United States (U.S.). Thebe Neruda Kgositsile (born February 24, 1994), also known by his stage name Earl Sweatshirt, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Kgositsile was originally known by the moniker Sly Tendencies when he began rapping in 2008, but soon changed his name when Tyler, the Creator invited him to join his alternative hip hop collective Odd Future in late 2009. He gained recognition and critical praise for his debut mixtape, ''Earl'', which he released in March 2010, at the young age of 16. Kelly Mark (born 1967 in Welland, Ontario) is a Canadian conceptual artist and sculptor based in Toronto. Her work explores the mundane rituals of everyday life. Art practice Mark is an artist who makes conceptual artworks across a range of media. Formats include: sculptural installation, performance, video, photography, sound, neon, art multiples, mail art, wallpaper, Letraset and tattoos.
