KBL Most Valuable Player Award
The Korean Basketball League Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) (Korean: 국내선수 MVP) is an annual Korean Basketball League (KBL) award given since 1997 to the best performing player of the regular season. It is only awarded to domestic players (registered as South Korean nationals) as there is a separate award for foreign import players. Joo Hee-jung, Shin Ki-sung, Kim Seung-hyun, Kim Joo-sung, Yang Dong-geun and Oh Se-keun are the only players to have won both the MVP and Rookie of the Year awards. Kim Seung-hyun is the only one to have won both within the same season. The Wonju DB Promy is a professional basketball club in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), located in the city of Wonju. From its founding in 1996, the team has always been based in its home province of Gangwon. It has the rare distinction of being the only team in the KBL to have never changed its hometown despite changing names and corporate sponsors several times. Song Kyo-chang
Song Kyo-chang (born 3 July 1996) is a South Korean professional basketball player. He currently plays for Jeonju KCC Egis in the Korean Basketball League and the South Korean national team. Early life Song was introduced to basketball in elementary school but preferred baseball as his lack of height was considered a disadvantage. By the time he entered middle school, he had grown much taller than his peers, prompting him to switch back to basketball. He graduated from Samil Commercial High School in Suwon. Samil was known as one of the top basketball schools outside of Seoul and he caught the attention of scouts, especially after his performances with the youth national teams. Heo Hoon (born 16 August 1995) is a South Korean professional basketball player. He currently plays for Suwon KT Sonicboom in the Korean Basketball League and the South Korean national team. Early life Heo enjoyed playing various sports from a young age but, due to his father's initial opposition, did not harbor dreams of becoming a professional athlete. He and his older brother spent a year and a half of their elementary school years in the United States when their father was sent for coaching training and worked as a coach at Pepperdine University. COVID-19 Pandemic In South Korea
The COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). Lee Jung-hyun (born March 3, 1987) is a South Korean professional basketball player for Jeonju KCC Egis in the Korean Basketball League and the South Korean national team. Early life Lee played baseball and football throughout elementary school. A promising football prospect, he had considered becoming a professional football player. He started playing basketball in sixth grade when his elementary school decided to start a basketball team and a classmate recruited him to join the team since he already had an athletic background. Moon Tae-jong (; or Cameron Jarod Stevenson; born December 1, 1975) is a South Korean former professional basketball player at the small forward position. He is 1.99 m in height. Suwon KT Sonicboom () is a professional basketball club based in Suwon, South Korea which plays in the Korean Basketball League. Their home games are played at the Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena. Ham Ji-hoon
Ham Ji-hoon (born December 11, 1984) is a South Korean professional basketball player. He plays for Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in the Korean Basketball League and is the club's captain and longest-serving player after Yang Dong-geun. Early life and college career Ham attended Kyungbock High School and played as a forward before being converted into a center at Chung-Ang University.
