KAZQ
KAZQ (channel 32) is a Non-commercial educational, non-commercial Religious broadcasting, religious independent station (North America), independent television station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Its transmitter is located on Sandia Crest northeast of Albuquerque. Owned by Alpha Omega Broadcasting, KAZQ is Sister station, sister to Low-power broadcasting#Television, low-power station KTVS-LD (channel 36) and the two stations share studios on Montgomery Boulevard Northeast in Albuquerque. History The station was issued an original construction permit on June 30, 1986, began operation on October 12, 1987, and was licensed by the Federal Communications Commission, FCC on March 29, 1988. Initially, it aired only Christianity, Christian programming, but later added family-friendly secular programs to its schedule. KTVS-LD
KTVS-LD, virtual channel 36 ( UHF digital channel 23), is a low-powered TheGrio TV- affiliated television station licensed to Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Founded on October 31, 1986, the station is owned by Alpha Omega Broadcasting. History This station began broadcasting in 1988 as K59DB (often identified as KDB) on channel 59. It was the first Telemundo affiliate in the area. By 1997, KTEL-LP had picked up the Telemundo affiliation. KDB had continued as a Spanish-language independent airing mostly music videos and sports programming. By 1999, Continental Broadcasting had sold KDB along with one FM and two AM radio stations to Clear Channel Communications. The format continued until late 2000 when Clear Channel had shut down KDB. James Orsen Bakker (; born January 2, 1940) is an American televangelist and convicted fraudster. Between 1974 and 1987, Bakker hosted the television program ''The PTL Club'' and its cable television platform, the PTL Satellite Network, with his then wife, Tammy Faye.
