Kurt Gödel Society
The Kurt Gödel Society was founded in Vienna, Austria in 1987. It is an international organization aimed at promoting research primarily on logic, philosophy and the history of mathematics, with special attention to connections with Kurt Gödel, in whose honour it was named. The group also organizes an ongoing lecture series called ''Collegium Logicum''. Former speakers include Henk Barendregt, George Boolos, Jaakko Hintikka and Wilfrid Hodges. In April 2006, the Gödel society organized Horizons of Truth', an international symposium celebrating the 100th Birthday of Kurt Gödel. Alonzo Church Award
ACM SIGLOG or SIGLOG is the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Logic and Computation. It publishes a news magazine (''SIGLOG News''), and has the annual ACM-IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science (LICS) as its flagship conference.. Wilfrid Hodges
Wilfrid Augustine Hodges, FBA (born 27 May 1941) is a British mathematician and logician known for his work in model theory. Life Hodges attended New College, Oxford (1959–65), where he received degrees in both '' Literae Humaniores'' and (Christianic) Theology. In 1970 he was awarded a doctorate for a thesis in Logic. He lectured in both Philosophy and Mathematics at Bedford College, University of London. He has held visiting appointments in the department of philosophy at the University of California and in the department of mathematics at University of Colorado. Kaarlo Jaakko Juhani Hintikka (12 January 1929 – 12 August 2015) was a Finnish philosopher and logician. Life and career Hintikka was born in Helsingin maalaiskunta (now Vantaa). In 1953, he received his doctorate from the University of Helsinki for a thesis entitled ''Distributive Normal Forms in the Calculus of Predicates''. He was a student of Georg Henrik von Wright. Hintikka was a Junior Fellow at Harvard University (1956-1969), and held several professorial appointments at the University of Helsinki, the Academy of Finland, Stanford University, Florida State University and finally Boston University from 1990 until his death.
