Kubrick The Dog
''Kubrick the Dog'' is a 2011 non-fiction photography book by British director Sean Ellis. The book was released on 28 February 2011 through Schirmer Books and focuses on the life of Ellis's dog Kubrick. ''Kubrick the Dog'' features several photos of Kubrick, a Hungarian Vizsla that Ellis adopted as a puppy in 1998, in several poses and with different people such as Stella McCartney. Ellis began working on the book in 2010 after Kubrick's death by canine lymphoma as a way of working through his grief over the dog's death. Reception Critical reception for the book was mostly positive. Sean Ellis (born 1970) is a British film director, writer, producer and fashion photographer. He is best known for his films '' Cashback'' (2004), '' The Broken'' (2008), ''Metro Manila'' (2013), in the Tagalog language, and ''Anthropoid'' (2016). Career In 2006, he was nominated for an Academy Award in the category "Best Short Film, Live Action" for his film, '' Cashback''. The feature film was produced more than a year after the original 2004 short film was completed. Following a decision in December 2005 to proceed with the feature, Ellis completed the expanded script in seven days. After getting commitments from his cast in March he secured financing and the film went into production in May. This schedule was exceedingly condensed by modern film making standards. Lymphoma (lymphosarcoma) in animals is a type of cancer defined by a proliferation of malignant lymphocytes within solid organs such as the lymph nodes, bone marrow, liver and spleen.
