Kuala Selangor is a town in northwestern Selangor, Malaysia. It is the largest town and administrative centre of the coterminous Kuala Selangor District. Etymology The name ''Kuala Selangor'' means Estuary of the Selangor River. History Kuala Selangor was the capital of the Sultanate of Selangor during its early years in the 18th century. It was relocated to Jugra in Kuala Langat region in 1827, then Klang in the 1870s. Location Kuala Selangor town is located at the estuary of the Selangor River, where it drains into the Strait of Malacca. It is located 55 km north-west of downtown Kuala Lumpur, and 42 km north-west of Shah Alam, the capital of Selangor. Jawi Alphabet
Jawi (; ace, Jawoë; Kelantan-Pattani: ''Yawi''; ) is a writing system used for writing several languages of Southeast Asia, such as Acehnese, Banjarese, Kerinci, Maguindanaon, Malay, Minangkabau, Tausūg, and Ternate. Jawi is based on the Arabic script, consisting of all of the original 31 Arabic letters, and six additional letters constructed to fit the phonemes native to Malay, and an additional phoneme used in foreign loanwords, but not found in Classical Arabic, which are ''ca'' ( ), ''nga'' ( ), ''pa'' ( ), ''ga'' ( ), ''va'' ( ), and ''nya'' ( ). Ijok
Ijok is a mukim in Kuala Selangor District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located along Federal route . Sited at a junction that leads to the bigger and more developed Bestari Jaya (Batang Berjuntai), Pekan Ijok is, in a sense, a 'cowboy town' with a main street lined with shops and small buildings on both sides. Demographics The Malays here are largely of Javanese stock, and claim their forefathers from Indonesia founded the town in the early 1900s. Many are smallholders or work on their own land while some work in local shops and factories. The Chinese came to do business or to open vegetable farms and have since stayed to set up home here. Likewise, the Indians have also found home here after the earlier settlers came to work in the rubber plantations. Masjid Jamek LRT Station
Masjid Jamek LRT station is a rapid transit station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the interchange station between two of Rapid KL's light rapid transit (LRT) systems, namely the LRT Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines and the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. The station is one of the only two stations that integrate the LRT lines, the other being Putra Heights station. The station is situated near, and named after the Masjid Jamek in central Kuala Lumpur. Despite being called an interchange station, up until 28 November 2011, there were effectively two Masjid Jamek stations in operational terms. Rawang, Selangor
Rawang is a town and a mukim in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia, about 23 km northwest of city centre Kuala Lumpur. History Rawang was founded in the early-19th century and was one of Kuala Lumpur earliest satellite towns. During the initial tin mining growth of Kuala Lumpur, many tin mines were explored and opened north of Kuala Lumpur, starting initially at the Ulu Kelang area and gradually moving northwards past Selayang and towards Rawang. The Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway (Malay: ''Lebuhraya Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor''), KLS ''(formerly ''Ijok–Templer Park Highway'' ( ms, Lebuhraya Ijok–Taman Templer), LATAR)'' or sometimes called LATAR Expressway ( ms, Lebuhraya LATAR), is an expressway in Selangor, Malaysia. Sungai Buloh, or Sungei Buloh, is a town, a mukim (commune) and a parliamentary constituency in the northern part of Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. Kuala Selangor Nature Park
The Kuala Selangor Nature Park (KSNP; ms, Taman Alam Kuala Selangor) is a park located by the mouth of Selangor River in Kuala Selangor District, Selangor, Malaysia. It was established by the Selangor state government in 1987 and has been managed by the Malaysian Nature Society who have proposed that it be declared a wetland of international importance. With a total area of , the park is a combination of secondary forest and wetland with a man-made coastal bund separating the wetland from the forest. Inside the park itself is a large pond surrounded by another bund. A water lock connecting the pond with the river controls the water level of the pond. The park, as part of the Selangor River estuary, is home to a number of large bird species such as milky storks and herons as well as primates, namely silver leaf monkeys and long-tailed macaques.
