Krzysztof Tołwiński (born 28 February 1968 in Siemiatycze) is a Polish agrarian politician, farmer, and former deputy minister of the treasury from September to November 2007. In 2010 he became a deputy in the Sejm from the Białystok constituency. He replaced Krzysztof Putra who died in the Smolensk air disaster. He ran for election in 2019 starting from the Confederation list but was not elected. He was a candidate in the 2019–20 Confederation presidential primary The Confederation presidential primary, 2020 was held from November 2019 to January 2020 to decide the coalition's nominee for the 2020 presidential election. Siemiatycze ( uk, Сім'ятичі ''Simiatychi'', be, Сямятычы ''Siamiatyčy'') is a town in eastern Poland, with 15,209 inhabitants (2004). It is situated in the Podlaskie Voivodeship (since 1999); previously it was in Białystok Voivodeship (1975–98). It is the capital of Siemiatycze County. The history of Siemiatycze dates back to the mid-16th century, when the village was part of the Podlasie Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In 1542, King Sigismund II Augustus granted town charter to Siemiatycze, and with the 1569 Union of Lublin, it became part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. For centuries Siemiatycze remained property of several Polish-Lithuanian magnate families. The town, conveniently located along the Bug River, and near local administrative centers at Drohiczyn and Mielnik, became a popular market place, where farmers sold their produce. Krzysztof Jakub Putra (, July 4, 1957 – April 10, 2010) was a Polish politician, a member of the Law and Justice (PiS). He served as a Deputy of the Senate Marshal from October 27, 2005 until November 4, 2007. He later became a Sejm member (from November 5) and PiS candidate for Sejm Marshal. Biography Putra was born in Józefowo, Suwałki County. He was a grandson of Aleksander Putra, who served as Sejm Member before World War II from Polish People's Party. A member of Solidarity during Communist rule, he was a worker in Białystok from 1975 to 1994. He was also a Sejm Member ( Contract Sejm) from Solidarity (1989–1991). Later he was elected from Centre Agreement and was one of the founder of Law and Justice in 2001. On 10 April 2010, a Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft operating Polish Air Force Flight 101 crashed near the Russian city of Smolensk, killing all 96 people on board. Confederation Freedom And Independence
The Confederation Liberty and Independence ( pl, Konfederacja Wolność i Niepodległość), frequently shortened to just Confederation ( pl, Konfederacja), is a far-right political party in Poland. It was initially founded in 2018 as a political coalition for the 2019 European Parliament election, although it was later expanded into a political party. It won 11 seats in the Sejm after the 2019 parliamentary election. Its presidential candidate for the 2020 election was Krzysztof Bosak who placed fourth among eleven candidates.
