Kreamer is a census-designated place (CDP) in Middlecreek Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 773 at the 2000 census. In May 2019, Wood-Mode, a major local employer, shut down its cabinetmaking operation in Kreamer. Press reports indicated the unexpected closing of the county's largest single employer cost nine-hundred people their jobs. Geography Kreamer is located at (40.801754, -76.967920). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 773 people, 300 households, and 227 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 388.5 people per square mile (150.0/km2). There were 308 housing units at an average density of 154.8/sq mi (59.8/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.84% White, 0.13% African American, 0.13% Asian, 0.13% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. Kreamer Island
Kreamer Island is a small island in the south-easternmost part of Lake Okeechobee, located in Palm Beach County, Florida just north of Torry Island. Kreamer Island is accessible only by airboat during the wet season and by recreational vehicles during dry season/droughts. A small canal separates Kreamer Island and Torry Island. Kreamer Island was a settlement in Palm Beach County, Florida. The settlement was situated north-west of Belle Glade. The island was first settled in the 19th century as a fishing and agricultural settlement. Kreamer Island suffered numerous casualties over the years from hurricanes, including one in the 1920s, in which about 1000 people around the lake perished. The area became generally flooded after the dike around the lake was raised from 6 feet to 20 feet. Anne Kreamer (born 1955) is an American journalist and author who specializes in business, work/life balance, culture, and women's issues. Biography Kreamer grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Harvard College. After graduating from college, she spent the first half of her career as a media executive and entrepreneur working in international sales for Children’s Television Workshop during its first globalizing phase, selling the program in English throughout Southeast Asia and the Caribbean as well as helping to inaugurate co-productions of Sesame Street in Mexico, Spain, France and Germany. Barbara Osborn Kreamer
Barbara Osborn Kreamer (born December 8, 1948) is an American politician from Aberdeen, Maryland and a former Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates. She was the first woman member of the Harford County Council and the first elected member of a county board in Maryland to give birth. Early life Barbara Osborn was born on December 8, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland to Nancy Leigh (née Cronin) and J. Grafton Osborn, Sr. Kreamer attended Aberdeen High School. She earned a B.A. from Washington College in 1970, an M.L.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1975, and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1989.
