Korea Men's National Handball Team
The Korea national handball team was a representative side which was composed of players from both South Korea and North Korea. The team competed at the 2019 World Championship as "Korea". 2019 World Championship The team had to have four players from North Korea. Because of this rule the team was allowed to have 20 players in the team instead of 16. The team played with the country abbreviation COR. Cho Young-shin
Cho Young-shin (born 20 October 1967) is a South Korean handball coach of the Korean national team. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Jeong Jae-wan
Jeong Jae-wan (born 1 September 1996) is a Korean handball player for Hanam Sports Council and the Korean national team. He represented Korea at the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. Personal life At the age of 24, Jeong joined the Korean Army in May. He ruptured his left Achilles tendon and ligament while exercising with his colleague three weeks after joining the army. He was taken to an outside hospital for surgery immediately. The hospital explained that he needed hospitalization for two months, but Jeong returned to his unit in three weeks. This is because the military authorities ordered him to return due to vacation regulations. It was said that if Jeong was treated using his vacation, there would be no vacation that he could use for the rest of his service. Jeong returned to the training center but did not receive proper medical assistance.
