''Korak do slobode'' (trans. ''One Step to Freedom'') is the seventh studio album from Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band Galija. It is the second part of the trilogy consisting of the album ''Daleko je Sunce'', this album and the album ''Istorija, ti i ja''. It is the second album recorded in cooperation with lyricist Radomir Kanjevac. The song "Kad me pogledaš" is a cover of Dire Straits song " Brothers in Arms". The song "Sloboda" is a duet by Galija frontman Nenad Milosavljević and Goran Šepa, the singer of the hard rock band Kerber. Brothers In Arms (song)
"Brothers in Arms" is a ballad by British rock band Dire Straits, the closing track on their fifth studio album of the same name, released on 18 October 1985. It was written in 1982, the year of Britain's involvement in the Falklands War. In 2007, the 25th anniversary of the war, Mark Knopfler recorded a new version of the song at Abbey Road Studios to raise funds for British veterans who he said "are still suffering from the effects of that conflict." "Brothers in Arms" has become a favourite at military funerals. Background This song was written during the Falklands War and is described by some as an anti-war song. Galija Albums
Galija ( sr-cyr, Галија; ) is a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Niš in 1977. The central figures of the band are brothers Nenad Milosavljević (vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica) and Predrag Milosavljević (vocals). A large numbrer of musicians passed through the band, with Milosavljević brothers and drummer Boban Pavlović being the only mainstay members. The band's first several releases were progressive rock-oriented, bringing them a loyal fanbase, but in the mid-1980s the band moved towards more mainstream-oriented sound. In the mid-1980s, the band was joined by guitarist Jean Jacques Roskam and multi-instrumentalist Bratislav "Bata" Zlatković. Boban Marković ( sr-cyr, Бобан Марковић) is a Serbian trumpet player and brass ensemble leader from Vladičin Han. He is of Romani background. Boban Marković Orchestra The Boban Marković Orchestra is a Balkan brass band from Vladičin Han, Southern Serbia, which can be clearly heard in their music. They have won several of the most important prizes ("Golden Trumpet", "First Trumpet" and "The Best Orchestra") at the Guča trumpet festival, called "Dragačevski Sabor", which has been held every August in Central Serbia's town of Guča, since 1961. Predrag Milosavljević
Predrag Peđa Milosavljević (Lužani, Kragujevac, Kingdom of Serbia 1908 — Belgrade, Yugoslavia 1989) was painter, lawyer, diplomat and dramaturge and member of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He received the Grand Prix during the International exhibition in Paris in 1937. One street in Belgrade on Bežanijska kosa was named after him. Mark Knopfler
Mark Freuder Knopfler (born 12 August 1949) is a British singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. Born in Scotland and raised in England, he was the lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the rock band Dire Straits. He pursued a solo career after the band first dissolved in 1988. Dire Straits reunited in 1990, but dissolved again in 1995. He is now an independent solo artist. Knopfler was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and raised in Blyth, near Newcastle in England, from the age of seven. After graduating from the University of Leeds and working for three years as a college lecturer, Knopfler co-founded Dire Straits with his younger brother, David Knopfler. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. Kerber
Kerber ( sr-cyr, Кербер, lit=Cerberus) is a Serbian and Yugoslav hard rock band formed in Niš in 1981. The mainstay members of Kerber are vocalist Goran Šepa "Gale", guitarist Tomislav "Tomica" Nikolić and keyboardist Branislav "Bane" Božinović. The band's debut album, released in 1983, brought them nationwide popularity. Throughout the 1980s Kerber was one of the top acts of the Yugoslav hard rock scene, with a number of their songs becoming hits, especially their power ballads with poetic lyrics written by lyricist Duško Arsenijević. Their sound has evolved from heavy rock on their debut album towards melodic hard rock on their other 1980s releases. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements.
