Kone Oyj (; officially stylized as KONE and trading as KONE Corporation) is an elevator engineering company employing over 60,000 personnel across 60 countries worldwide. It was founded in 1910 and is now headquartered in Espoo near Helsinki, Finland. In addition, Kone builds and services moving walkways (referred to by the company as ''autowalks''), automatic doors and gates, escalators, and lifts. In the Finnish language, ''Kone'' means "machine". Since 1924, Kone has been controlled by the Herlin family. Harald Herlin purchased the company in 1924 and served as its chairman until 1941. Afterward, his son, Heikki H. Herlin, took over his father's post from 1941–1987. In 1954, Pekka Herlin joined Kone and succeeded his father as president in 1964. KONE (FM)
KONE (101.1 MHz), known as "Rock 101", is a classic rock formatted FM radio station serving the Lubbock, Texas, and South Plains Area. Owned by Alpha Media Group, through licensee Alpha Media Licensee LLC, its studios are located in south Lubbock on Avenue Q west of I-27, and its transmitter is located south of the city. History This station previously held the call letters KTEZ when it aired an easy listening format. It was founded in December 1974 by Troy Raymond "Ray" Moran (who'd later found Ramar Communications.) It began with studios and transmitter in the former transmitter shack of KKBC-TV/KMXN-TV (predecessor of KJTV, FOX34.) Moran had worked in Lubbock in the 1950 and 1960s. He was part owner of radio stations in Roswell, NM and Albuquerque, NM. Moran had engineer Guy D. KHIT (1450 AM, "CBS Sports Radio 94.1 - 1450") is a commercial radio station that broadcasts a sports radio format. It is licensed to Reno, Nevada, United States and serves the Reno area. The station is currently owned by Lotus Communications. Programming is also heard on FM translator station K231CS at 94.1 MHz. Its studios are located on Plumb Lane in South Reno, and its transmitter is located in northwest Reno. KHIT is the Reno affiliate of CBS Sports Radio.
