Konkhra is a Danish death metal/extreme metal band formed in Køge in 1989. History Konkhra is an extreme metal band from Denmark who blend death metal, groove metal, mid-tempo, and thrash. They are often compared to Machine Head, Entombed, Pantera, Bolt Thrower, and Morbid Angel. The name "Konkhra" is derived from the sound that Tom Angelripper from Sodom makes when he introduces the song "Conqueror" on the 1988 album ''Mortal Way of Live''. 1989: The band formed under the name Vicious Circle before changing names to Konkra. James Murphy (guitarist)
James Franklin Murphy (born July 30, 1967) is an American guitarist. He is best known for his work in metal bands Obituary, Death and Testament. He founded Disincarnate, an early death metal band. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2001 but recovered. In October 2011, Murphy stated that the tumor had returned but that it was non-cancerous and that it was being treated pharmacologically. He is working on a tribute album to Death founder Chuck Schuldiner who died from pneumonia, caused by complications of his treatment for a brain tumor. He also produced Deron Miller's band World Under Blood. The Hellacopters are a Swedish rock band, active between 1994 and 2008 and again since 2016. The band was formed by vocalist and guitarist Nicke Andersson, guitarist Dregen, bassist Kenny Håkansson and drummer Robban Eriksson, later keyboard player Anders Lindström joined the band. In 1997 guitarist Dregen left the band in order to focus fully on his other band The Backyard Babies, the band quickly recruited Danne Andersson and later Mattias Hellberg as temporary replacements in order to complete the band's European and American tour. Immolation is an American death metal band from Yonkers, New York. They are considered one of the leaders of the New York death metal scene along with Incantation, Mortician and Suffocation. History Immolation was founded after the demise of Rigor Mortis (NY), a band formed in May 1986 by Andrew Sakowicz (bass guitar, vocals) Dave Wilkinson (drums), and Robert Vigna (guitar). After recording the ''Decomposed'' and ''Warriors of Doom'' demos, Sakowicz left the band in early 1988 and was replaced by Ross Dolan, and the band's name was changed to "Immolation". Fear Factory is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1989. Throughout the band's career, they have released ten full-length albums and have evolved through a succession of sounds, all in their main style of industrial metal. Over the years, Fear Factory has seen frequent changes in its lineup, with lead vocalist Burton C. Bell being the only consistent member for 31 years until his departure in 2020. Other than guitarist Dino Cazares, there are no original members left in its current lineup. The band went on hold in March 2002 following some internal disputes, but resumed activity a year later without founding member Cazares. Brutal Truth was an American grindcore band from New York City, formed by ex- Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, and Stormtroopers of Death bass guitarist Dan Lilker in 1990. The group disbanded in 1999, but reformed in 2006 and continued to release music until 2014. History Brutal Truth was formed in 1990 in New York City.
