Konga, The Wild Stallion
''Konga, the Wild Stallion'' is a 1939 American Western film directed by Sam Nelson and starring Fred Stone, Rochelle Hudson and Richard Fiske. Plot In this drama, a battle has to be fought between rancher Yance Calhoun and farmer Jordan Hadley protecting precious meadows. The fight begins when the rancher's horses constantly break through the farmer's fence and destroy his wheat fields. The angry farmer starts shooting at the ranch owner's horses, including the beloved wild stallion, Konga. In return, the rancher shoots the farmer to get revenge. The feud is eventually settled when the rancher's son Steve and the farmer's daughter Judith fall in love. Sam Nelson
Sam Nelson (1896-1963) was a director who worked from the end of the silent through the early 1960s. While most of his film work was in the assistant director role, he did direct over 20 films during the 1930s and 1940s, all of which were westerns. As an assistant director he worked on such notable films as '' Pennies from Heaven'', ''And Then There Were None'', ''All the King's Men'', the original '' 3:10 to Yuma'', ''Some Like It Hot'', ''A Raisin in the Sun'', and ''Spartacus''. In addition he appeared in over a dozen films in small roles. George Cleveland
George Alan Cleveland (September 17, 1885 – July 15, 1957) was a Canadian film actor. He appeared in more than 180 films between 1930 and 1954. Career Cleveland was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. His first appearance on the stage was in ''The Octaroon'' as a teenager. Cleveland was active as a Vaudevillian before moving to Hollywood in 1936 where he worked in films via acting, producing and directing. Although Cleveland played in more than 150 films during his 58-year career in show business, he acknowledged that he was most well-known for his role as George "Gramps" Miller in the early years of the long running American television series ''Lassie''. Carl Stockdale
Carl Stockdale also known as Carlton Stockdale (February 19, 1874 – March 15, 1953) was one of the longest-working Hollywood veteran actors, with a career dating from the early 1910s. He also made the difficult transition from silent films to talkies. Stockdale was born in Worthington, Minnesota, graduated from Minneapolis Central High School, and attended the University of North Dakota. Before he began working with films, Stockdale was a property man with a repertory theatrical company headed by his brother. He went on to act on stage in repertory theater and in vaudeville. Donald Theophilus Beddoe (July 1, 1903 – January 19, 1991) was an American character actor. Early years Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Beddoe was the son of Dan Beddoe, a Welsh classical singer, and his wife Mary. Robert Warwick (born Robert Taylor Bien, October 9, 1878 – June 6, 1964) was an American stage, film and television actor with over 200 film appearances. A matinee idol during the silent film era, he also prospered after the introduction of sound to cinema. As a young man he had studied opera singing in Paris and had a rich, resonant voice.
