Kobus Van Dyk
Jacobus Johannes van Dyk (born 6 July 1994) is a South African rugby union player for the in Super Rugby. His regular playing positions are number 8, lock or flanker. Rugby career Youth and Varsity Cup rugby Van Dyk was born in Bredasdorp and attended school in Caledon. He never represented his local provincial side at schoolboy tournaments, such as the Craven Week. However, after enrolling at the Stellenbosch University, he was selected to represent Western Province at Under-21 level, making three appearances for them in the 2014 Under-21 Provincial Championship. Van Dyk played six matches for in the 2015 Varsity Cup competition, scoring tries in matches against , , and . Bredasdorp
Bredasdorp is a town in the Southern Overberg region of the Western Cape, South Africa, and the main economic and service hub of that region. It lies on the northern edge of the Agulhas Plain, about south-east of Cape Town and north of Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. Tourist attractions of Bredasdorp include the Heuningberg Nature Reserve, many historical churches, and art galleries and craft shops. 2016 Varsity Cup
The 2016 Varsity Cup was contested from 8 February to 11 April 2016. The tournament (also known as the ''FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International'' for sponsorship reasons) was the ninth season of the Varsity Cup, an annual inter-university rugby union competition featuring eight South African universities. The Stormers (known for sponsorship reasons as the DHL Stormers) is a South African professional rugby union team based in Cape Town in the Western Cape that competes in the United Rugby Championship, a trans-hemispheric competition that also involves sides from Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. They competed in the Super Rugby competition until 2020. 2016 Super Rugby Season
The 2016 Super Rugby season was the 21st season of Super Rugby and the first season featuring an expanded 18-team format. It was also the first season that teams outside Australia, New Zealand and South Africa featured, with the Jaguares from Argentina and the Sunwolves from Japan taking part. This season also saw the return of the Kings, who competed just once before, in the 2013 Super Rugby season. The round-robin games took place every weekend from 26 February to 16 July 2016 (with a break for international matches during June), followed by the finals series at the end of July and culminating in the final on 6 August.
