Kirby Building
The Kirby Building, historically known as the Busch Building, is a 17-story skyscraper in the Main Street District of Downtown Dallas. The structure was completed in 1913 by beer magnate Adolphus Busch to accompany his nearby Hotel Adolphus. The building became vacant with many older buildings during the economic downturn of the 1980s. While the building was symbolic of downtown's crash in the 1980s, it also served as a symbol of the start of the resurrection as it became the first high-rise to be converted from office use to residential apartments. The structure is a Dallas Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Kirby Cane
Kirby Cane is a scattered village and civil parish centred west northwest of Beccles and northeast of Bungay. It is in south-east Norfolk. It housed 375 people in 152 households as at 2001 – then 434 in 179 households at the 2011 Census, the increase in households being almost 18% – unusually large for England. Its north-eastern neighbourhood is often known as Kirby Green. The most populous part is often known as Kirby Row, which is from the heart of Ellingham, Norfolk and which is, narrowly, mainly in that parish – whether taken in its historical borders or on its similar boundaries of today. The land drains gently south to the Waveney which is the border with Suffolk. Further north of its isolated church and its small smattering of houses is Wash Lane which leads to the A146 road (between Norwich and Beccles). Kirby Bedon
Kirby Bedon is a hamlet in South Norfolk which lies approximately 3½ miles (5½ km) south-east of Norwich on the road to Bramerton. It covers an area of and had a population of 186 in 77 households at the 2001 census, the population increasing to 198 at the 2011 Census. The villages name means 'church farm/village'. The village was held by the Bidun family in the 12th century. It has two churches, the ruined round-towered St Mary's Church and, standing opposite, St Andrew's church, which is still in use. St Andrew's contains a plaque erected by parishioners in memory of four crew members of "Broad and High", an American B-24 Liberator bomber who were killed when it crashed near the church on 18 August 1944 as it returned to Rackheath from a raid on Germany. Horton Kirby
Horton Kirby is a village in the Sevenoaks District of Kent, England. It is located 3.9 miles east of Swanley & 4.9 miles south of Dartford. Together with the nearby village of South Darenth, it forms the Horton Kirby and South Darenth civil parish. Heritage Horton Kirby Environmental Studies Centre provides nature and country life-related outdoor activities for schoolchildren from South London. Remains of a Roman villa were discovered in 1972 on the Westminster Field recreation ground, just across the Darent from the village. The discovery was made when new main sewage drains were being dug. The extra costs of diverting these to save the villa were met by public subscription, with fund-raising help from local schoolchildren. The remains include those of a Roman granary at least 100 ft in length and 60 ft wide. The site was back-filled after preservation work was completed. Kirby Lake
Kirby Lake is a 740-acre man-made reservoir located on the south side of Abilene, Texas with a population of 125,000, just east of Highway 83, in the northeastern portion of Taylor County. Kirby Lake is within the Brazos River Basin, meaning that Cedar Creek, which feed Kirby Lake, eventually feeds into the Brazos River. Kirby Lake resides in the Red Prairies portion of the Central Great Plains ecoregion. Management is under the City of Abilene. Hydrology Kirby Lake has around 740 acres (300 hectares) of surface area, a 7,620 acre-feet of capacity, and the maximum measured depth was 16 feet (5 meters). The watershed which feeds Kirby Lake is around 44 square miles (114 square kilometers), and Cedar Creek is the impounded river which the dam is named after.
