'' Kirarin Revolution'' is a Japanese manga series that was adapted into an animated series from 2006 to 2009. Music for the series was managed by Up-Front Works and released under the Zetima label. Throughout its run, the show has released three studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, nine video singles, eleven singles, five soundtrack albums, and twelve music videos. Koharu Kusumi from the Japanese idol girl group Morning Musume made her solo singing and acting debut as the main character, Kirari Tsukishima; portraying the character both in the anime and in a real-world context made her one of the pioneers of the "idol voice actor" crossover beginning in the late 2000s. Along with providing Kirari Tsukishima's voice for the series, Kusumi released music as Kirari under the name , including providing the opening and ending themes to ''Kirarin Revolution''. Kirarin Revolution
is a Japanese manga series by An Nakahara. The series ran in the shōjo manga, ''shōjo'' manga magazine ''Ciao (magazine), Ciao'' from March 2004 to June 2009, with side stories running in ''Pucchigumi'' in 2006. The manga sold a cumulative total of over 10 million copies and was awarded Best Children's Manga at the 2006 Shogakukan Manga Awards. An anime adaptation premiered on April 7, 2006 in Japan on TV Tokyo and ran for 102 episodes until March 28, 2008. A second season with the subtitle aired from April 8, 2008 to March 27, 2009 in high-definition and 3D animation. The anime series stars Morning Musume member Koharu Kusumi, and during the show's run, she released music and made appearances at concerts and crossover television shows as the character. Haromoni
was the sequel to the long-running Japanese variety show ''Hello! Morning'', which first aired on April 8, 2007, on TV Tokyo and later throughout the country. The show was recorded in HD and starred Morning Musume members. Each member represented different animals living under the young and mildly despotic ruler of the fictional Kingdom of Haromoni, , whose name derives from the Japanese word for .
