Kira Ezekh
Nkeirouka Khilarievna "Kira" Ezekh (russian: Нкеирука (Кира) Хилариевна Езех; born October 17, 1983) is a Russian curler. She currently skips her own team out of Saint Petersburg. The team won the 2022 Russian Curling Championships. She has competed at fifteen World Women's Curling Championships and seventeen European Curling Championships. She won a silver medal at the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship, as well as three bronze medals from 2014 to 2016 as part of the Anna Sidorova rink. She has won the European Championship three times (, , ) as well as a silver and bronze medal in 2014 and 2011 respectively. Ezekh represented Russia four times at the Winter Olympic Games in 2002 2006, 2010 and 2014, with her best finish coming in 2006 where her team finished in sixth with a 5–4 record. 2012 European Curling Championships
The 2012 European Curling Championships was held from December 7 to 15 at the Löfbergs Lila Arena and the Karlstad Curling Club in Karlstad, Sweden. The Group A competitions was held at the Löfbergs Lila Arena, while the Group B competitions was held at the Karlstad Curling Club. Anna Vladimirovna Sidorova (russian: А́нна Влади́мировна Си́дорова; born 6 February 1991) is a Russian curler. She currently skips her own team on the World Curling Tour. Sidorova was the skip of the Russian team that won bronze medals at the World Women's Curling Championships from 2014 to 2016 and the silver medal at the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship. Career As a junior, Sidorova represented Russia at four World Junior Curling Championships (2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012). She won the bronze medal as the skip of the Russian junior team in 2011 and 2012. Skip (curling)
In the sport of curling, the skip is the captain of a team. The skip determines strategy, and holds the broom in the ''house'' (target area) to indicate where a teammate at the other end of the curling ''sheet'' (playing area) should aim the stone. The skip usually throws the last two stones in the fourth position, but may play in any other position. Sometimes "skipper" is used; it can also be abbreviated as "S". It's also used as a verb ("skips", "skipped", "skipping"). It is conventional to identify a team by the name of the skip. 2009 Winter Universiade
The 2009 Winter Universiade, the XXIV Winter Universiade took place in Harbin, China. Student athletes from 44 countries took part in the games. Selection Harbin was selected by FISU on January 10, 2005 over future 2011 Winter Universiade host city Erzurum. They were the only two candidates. Venues Harbin now has four stadiums for international ice games and five training stadiums. The 2007 Winter Universiade, the XXIII Winter Universiade, took place in Turin, Italy from January 17 to 27, 2007. Opening ceremony The Opening Ceremony of the XXIII Winter Universiade Torino 2007 was held with a cast of acrobats, circus performers and dancers. Winter Universiade
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. In July 2020 as part of a new branding system by the FISU, it was stated that the Universiade will be officially branded as the FISU World University Games.
