Kingdom Days In An Evil Age
''Kingdom Days in an Evil Age'' is the third album from the Christian metalcore band, Sleeping Giant. Critical reception Zachary Zinn writes: "Sleeping Giant does a tremendous job at keeping the songs diversified and making each one sound different and unique. It’s great to see a heavy band focus more on the Maker than breakdowns and growls. It’s a rare gem that comes highly recommended to fans of the genre." Jeremiah Holdsworthfrom Indie Vision Music says: "Musically this album is kicking on all cylinders. If you were a fan of Sleeping Giant before, then you will definitely be impressed with this release. If you weren’t a fan then I definitely recommend checking this one out, because this isn’t the same Sleeping Giant from the past. I also recommend getting the deluxe edition, because the three bonus tracks, are just as good, if not better, then most of the songs on the regular album." Track listing Credits * J.R. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Death growls and gang vocals are common. 1990s metalcore bands were inspired by hardcore while later metalcore bands were inspired by melodic death metal bands like At the Gates and In Flames. Finished People
''Finished People'' is the fourth album of the Christian metalcore band, Sleeping Giant. Critical reception Wayne Reimer of Jesus Freak Hideout writes: "If you weren't a fan of Sleeping Giant before, Finished People might change your mind." Brody B. of Indie Vision Music writes: "Sleeping Giant have not pushed the envelope of the hardcore world by any means with “Finished People” and yet the Salt Lake City based band produce a monster of a hardcore record with enough heart to make up for what it lacks in musical complexity. “Finished People” capitalizes on congregational hardcore worship anthems and challenges listeners everywhere to boldly love and spread the message of Jesus." Tim Dodderidge of Mind Equals Blown writes: "It’s amazing how much Sleeping Giant has grown since their rough debut, and it’s even more amazing to look at the entire scope of their career and realize there’s still some potential left to unlock. Arguably the biggest complaint aside from the ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Christian Metalcore
Christian metal, also known as white metal, Jesus metal or heavenly metal, is heavy metal music distinguished by its Christian themed song lyrics and the dedication of the band members to Christianity. Christian metal is typically performed by professed Christians, principally for Christians and is often produced and distributed through various Christian networks. Christian metal bands exist in most of the subgenres of heavy metal music, and the only common link among most Christian metal bands are the lyrics. The Christian themes are often melded with the subjects of the genre the band is rooted in, regularly providing a Christian take on the subject matter. It has been argued that the marginal yet transnational Christian metal subculture provides its core members with an alternative religious expression and Christian identity, and that the music serves the purpose of offering a positive message through lyrical content. This may not necessarily show a direct connection or refe ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
