King Crimson
King Crimson were an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by Robert Fripp, Michael Giles, Greg Lake, Ian McDonald (musician), Ian McDonald and Peter Sinfield. Guitarist Fripp remained the only constant member throughout the band's long history. The band drew inspiration from a wide variety of music, incorporating elements of classical music, classical, jazz, folk music, folk, heavy metal music, heavy metal, gamelan, blues, industrial (music), industrial, electronic music, electronic, and experimental music. They exerted a strong influence on the early 1970s progressive rock movement, including on contemporaries such as Yes (band), Yes and Genesis (band), Genesis, and continue to inspire subsequent generations of artists across multiple genres. ProjeKcts
The ProjeKcts are a succession of experimental spin-off groups associated with the band King Crimson. The ProjeKcts were most active from 1997 to 1999, but have performed intermittently since. These earlier ProjeKcts, up to ProjeKct Six in 2006, were devoted to instrumental and heavily improvised music. All of them included King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp, who described their purpose as being "research and development" for King Crimson. Tuner (also capitalised as TUNER and TU-NER) is an electronic rock trio formed by drummer/programmer Pat Mastelotto (of King Crimson) and touch guitarists Markus Reuter and Trey Gunn. Tuner has released six albums and also functions as a production team, having produced and arranged records for Toyah, Moonbound and Chrysta Bell and as remixers (having contributed to Steven Wilson's ''Insurgentes Rmxs''). Mastelotto and Reuter also work together in Stick Men and The Crimson ProjeKct. Foreigner is a British-American rock band formed in New York City in 1976. Bad Company
Bad Company were an English rock supergroup formed in London in 1973 by singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke (both ex- Free), guitarist Mick Ralphs (ex- Mott the Hoople) and bassist Boz Burrell (ex-King Crimson). Kirke was the only member to remain throughout the band's entire run, while he and Ralphs were the only members to appear on every studio album. Peter Grant, who managed the rock band Led Zeppelin, also managed Bad Company until 1982. Bad Company enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s. Fripp & Eno
Fripp & Eno is a UK-based ambient music side project composed of musician and composer Brian Eno and guitarist Robert Fripp. The duo have released four studio albums, beginning with 1973's '' No Pussyfooting''. The music created by this pair is entirely instrumental and makes extensive use of Frippertronics, a tape delay technique developed by Fripp. Much of the duo's music combines Frippertronics with Fripp's guitar, the Fripp Pedalboard and Frizzbox (with subsequent sound treatments by Eno) along with Eno playing various keyboards, synthesizers and modified Revox A77 tape recorders. ''McDonald and Giles'' is an album released by British musicians Ian McDonald and Michael Giles in 1970. The album was first issued on Island Records (ILPS 9126) in the UK and Cotillion Records (SD 9042), a division of Atlantic Records, in the US. (The album was released on Atlantic itself in several countries.) The album was recorded at Island Studios between May and July 1970. Although ''McDonald and Giles'' remains popular among King Crimson fans, its commercial success was limited. Crimson Jazz Trio
The Crimson Jazz Trio was a jazz trio led by drummer Ian Wallace, formerly of King Crimson, which re-interpreted King Crimson's music. History The trio was conceived by Wallace, who recruited Tim Landers (bass) and Jody Nardone (piano) in 2004. They recorded the album ''King Crimson Songbook, Volume One'' ( Voiceprint) in 2005. The album includes material from beyond Wallace's early 1970s tenure in King Crimson. Concert appearances in the spring of 2007 were scrapped due to Wallace falling ill. Prior to his death on February 22 of that year, the band finished recording a second album, ''King Crimson Songbook, Volume Two'', with assistance from Jakko Jakszyk and Mel Collins, Wallace's colleagues in 21st Century Schizoid Band.
