King's Quest (2015 Video Game)
''King's Quest'' is an episodic video game series developed by The Odd Gentlemen and published by Activision under the Sierra Entertainment brand name for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It is a new re-imagining of the long-running ''King's Quest'' series. While it is an adventure game like the previous games in the series, the interface is not fully point-and-click (the PC version only uses point-and-click for the dialogue and first person scenes). The game is one of several attempts at resurrecting or rebooting the ''King's Quest'' franchise since 1998, and its first chapter was released some 32 years after ''King's Quest I''. The new chapters are seen as neither a remake nor necessarily a sequel but a "re-imagining" (the original games are considered to be part of the canon of the new series, as each chapter will take place between those games, but previous games may be reinterpreted in completely new ways). The Odd Gentlemen is a video game developer founded by Matt Korba and Paul Bellezza in 2008. History Its first video game is '' The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom''. It was originally Matt Korba's graduate thesis at the University of Southern California. ''The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom'' is a puzzle platform game that boasted the company's quirky art style. It was published by 2K Play. They have also released a game in the PlayStation 3's social gaming network, PlayStation Home, called '' Slap Happy Sam''. In 2012, The Odd Gentlemen released their first iPhone game, ''Flea Symphony''. Author Neil Gaiman announced in June 2013 he would be making his first game with the help of The Odd Gentlemen. ''King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow'' is a point-and-click adventure game, first released in 1992 as the sixth installment in the ''King's Quest'' series produced by Sierra Entertainment, Sierra On-Line. Written by Roberta Williams and Jane Jensen, ''King's Quest VI'' is widely recognized as the high point in the series for its landmark 3D graphic introduction movie (created by Kronos Digital Entertainment) and professional voice acting (Hollywood actor Robby Benson provided the voice for Prince Alexander, the game's protagonist).
