Bobby Kimmel
Bobby Kimmel (born September 1, 1940) is an American musician and songwriter who currently performs with the acoustic folk group I Hear Voices. He has been recording and performing in concert for over 50 years and was a founding member of the Stone Poneys, along with Linda Ronstadt and the late Kenny Edwards. Bobby Kimmel moved to Tucson as a child for his asthmatic condition. His father was a studio musician in New York City, and become the principal double bass player in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. He also owned and operated a retail music shop near the university. Kimmel's early musical influence was jazz, especially "West Coast" jazz. He also listened to the "harder" East Coast jazz. Michael Scott Kimmel (born February 26, 1951) is an American retired sociologist specializing in gender studies. He was Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Stony Brook University in New York and is the founder and editor of the academic journal ''Men and Masculinities''. Kimmel is a spokesman of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism (NOMAS) and a longtime feminist. In 2013, he founded the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook University, where he is Executive Director. In 2018 he was publicly accused of sexual harassment. William Kimmel (August 15, 1812 – December 28, 1886) was a U.S. Congressman from the third district of Maryland, serving two terms from 1877 to 1881. Kimmel was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended St. Mary’s College and Baltimore College. He studied law, and was admitted to the bar, commencing practice in Baltimore. He became interested in agricultural and business pursuits, and served as State director of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad company, director in the Union Railroad company, and in the Western Maryland extension.
