Kim Cameron (computer Scientist)
Kim Cameron ''(August 31, 1948 — November 30, 2021)'' was a Canadian computer scientist who was Microsoft's chief architect of access and worked since the emergence of the Internet to create a humanistic system of Digital Identity. He was the originator of the 7 Laws of Identity, and developed the InfoCard architecture. Career Cameron joined Microsoft in 1999 as part of Microsoft's acquisition of ZoomIt Corp., a software company dedicated to digital identity that he co-founded in 1980. According to his Microsoft biography, "as VP of Technology at ZoomIt, (Cameron) invented metadirectory technology and built the first shipping product." Windows CardSpace (codenamed InfoCard) is a discontinued identity selector app by Microsoft. It stores references to digital identities of the users, presenting them as visual information cards. CardSpace provides a consistent UI designed to help people to easily and securely use these identities in applications and web sites where they are accepted. Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) is an identity management (IdM) product offered by Microsoft. It is a service that aggregates identity-related information from multiple data-sources. The goal of MIIS is to provide organizations with a unified view of a user's/resources identity across the heterogeneous enterprise and provide methods to automate routine tasks. MIIS manages information by retrieving identity information from the connected data sources and storing the information in the connector space as connector space objects or CSEntry objects.
