Killers (Kiss Album)
''Killers'' is the second compilation album by American hard rock group Kiss. It was released only outside the US, but quickly became available as an import. Of the album's twelve songs, four were new compositions recorded specifically for it: "I'm a Legend Tonight," "Down on Your Knees," "Nowhere to Run" and "Partners in Crime." These new songs were recorded at the behest of Phonogram, in response to the commercial failure of 1981's ''Music from "The Elder"''. Album information By 1982, Kiss' commercial popularity was at its nadir. 1980's '' Unmasked'' had barely achieved gold certification in the United States, and the band toured exclusively outside the US for the first time in their career that year, aside from one show in New York which introduced Eric Carr as their new official drummer. A greatest hits album or best-of album is a type of compilation album that collects popular and commercially successful songs by a particular artist or band. ''Paul Stanley'' is the first solo studio album from American musician Paul Stanley, the singer-songwriter is best known for serving as the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist of hard rock band Kiss. It was one of four solo albums released by the members of Kiss on September 18, 1978, coming out alongside ''Peter Criss'', ''Ace Frehley'', and ''Gene Simmons''. Paul Stanley (born Stanley Bert Eisen; January 20, 1952) is an American musician who is the co-founder, frontman, rhythm guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the hard rock band Kiss. Michael C Japp (15 November 1952 – 31 January 2012) was a Welsh musician and songwriter. Japp joined May Fisher, a Llanelli-based band, just before it was taken up by a London rock and pop music agency – through a friend who went on to establish 3PR – and sent on an extended and successful tour of Yugoslavia under a new name: Thank You. On their return, Thank You supported Joe Brown's Browns Home Brew and Marmalade on UK tours, as well as playing leading university and college dates. His aggressive, abrupt rock guitar style was first captured on recordings made by Joe Brown at his Essex recording studio. Paul Charles Caravello (July 12, 1950 – November 24, 1991), better known professionally as Eric Carr, was an American musician who was the drummer for the rock band Kiss from 1980 to 1991. Caravello was selected as the new Kiss drummer after Peter Criss departed, when he chose the stage name "Eric Carr" and took up The Fox persona. He remained a member of Kiss until his death from heart cancer on November 24, 1991, at the age of 41. Music recording certification is a system of certifying that a music recording has shipped, sold, or streamed a certain number of units. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). ''Unmasked'' is the eighth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on May 20, 1980. It was their first not to feature drummer Peter Criss (although largely absent from the preceding ''Dynasty'', Criss performed on that album's "Dirty Livin'"). Despite having no involvement in its production, Criss features in the album's artwork and appears in the video for " Shandi". Overview The album features substantial contributions from producer Vini Poncia, who had been Ringo Starr's post-Beatles songwriting partner.
