County Kildare ( ga, Contae Chill Dara) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Leinster and is part of the Eastern and Midland Region. It is named after the town of Kildare. Michael O'Riordan (hurler)
Michael O'Riordan ( ga, Mícheál Ó Ríordáin; 12 November 1917 – 18 May 2006) was the founder of the Communist Party of Ireland (3rd) and also fought with the Connolly Column in the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War. Early life O'Riordan was born at 37 Pope's Quay, Cork city, on 11 November 1917. He was the youngest of five children. His parents came from the West Cork Gaeltacht of Ballingeary- Gougane Barra. Despite his parents being native speakers of the Irish language, it was not until O'Riordan was interned during the Second World War that he learnt Irish. As a teenager, he joined the republican youth movement, Fianna Éireann, and then the Irish Republican Army. Much of the IRA at the time was inclined towards left-wing politics. Andy Comerford
Andrew James Comerford (born 10 October 1972) is an Irish retired hurling manager and former player who played for Kilkenny Senior Championship club O'Loughlin Gaels. He played for the London and Kilkenny senior hurling teams for nearly a decade, during which time he usually lined out at midfield or centre-forward. Comerford began his hurling career at junior club level with O'Loughlin Gaels. After a brief spell with the Brothers Pearse club in London, he returned to O'Loughlin Gaels and enjoyed his first success as a member of the 1996 Kilkenny Intermediate Championship-winning team and promotion to the top flight of Kilkenny hurling. Jack Sheridan (hurler)
Jack Sheridan (born 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays for Kildare Senior Championship club Naas and at inter-county level with the Kildare senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a forward. Career Sheridan first came to hurling prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Naas club. He eventually joined the club's senior team and was part of their 2019 County Championship-winning team. Sheridan first appeared at inter-county level with the Kildare minor team in 2015 before later lining out with the under-21 side. He was straight out of the minor grade when he was drafted onto the Kildare senior hurling team for the 2016 National Hurling League. Sheridan has since won two Christy Ring Cup titles.
