Kieran Murphy (Erin's Own Hurler)
Kieran Murphy (born 1983) is an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Cork senior team spanned seven seasons from 2002 to 2008. Born in Glounthaune, County Cork, Murphy first played competitive hurling and Gaelic football at Coláiste an Phiarsaigh. He simultaneously came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Erin's Own club, before eventually becoming a dual player with the club's adult teams. Murphy won back-to-back county championship medals in 2006 and 2007. Murphy made his debut on the inter-county scene when he was selected for the Cork minor teams as a dual player in 2000. He enjoyed two championship seasons with the minor teams, winning All-Ireland medals in both codes. Murphy subsequently joined both Cork under-21 teams, winning a Munster medal with the footballers in 2004. Erin's Own GAA (Cork)
Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Glounthaune in east County Cork, Ireland. The club is made up of players from Little Island, Knockraha, Brooklodge and Glounthaune areas of the parish. The club caters for players at all age levels in hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and ladies football. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History Erin's Own GAA Club was founded in 1963 with the amalgamation of the two parish clubs, Knockraha and Little Island. The decision to form the new club was based on a desire to strengthen Gaelic games in the parish of Glounthaune by forming one strong unit where two weaker ones previously existed. 2007 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 2007 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 11th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the 2017 fixtures took place in December 2006. The championship began on 20 April 2007 and ended on 14 October 2007. Erin's Own were the defending champions. Douglas were relegated from the championship after losing two play-off games in the relegation section. On 14 October 2007, Erin's Own won the championship following a 1-11 to 1-7 defeat of Newrownshandrum in the final. This was their third championship title ever and their second title in succession. Joe Deane
Joseph Deane (born 15 November 1977) is an Irish retired hurler who played for East Cork club Killeagh. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for 13 years, during which time he usually lined out as a left corner-forward. Diminutive in size but noted for his deadly accuracy in front of goal, Deane is regarded as one of Cork's all-time greatest and most popular players. Deane began his hurling career at club level with Killeagh. He broke onto the club's top adult team as a 16-year-old in 1994 and enjoyed his first success the following year when the club won the 1995 Cork Junior Championship title. He later won a Cork Intermediate Championship title in 2001 and promotion to the top flight of Cork hurling. Pat Mulcahy
Pat Mulcahy (born 25 August 1975) is an Irish hurler who played as a Full back for the Cork senior team. Mulcahy made his first appearance for the team during the 1997 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement almost a decade later. During that time he won two All-Ireland winners' medal, four Munster winners' medals and one All-Star award. He ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. At club level Mulcahy is an All-Ireland medalist with Newtownshandrum. In addition to this he has also won three Munster winners' medals and five county club championship winners' medals. In retirement from inter-county hurling Mulcahy became involved in team management and coaching. In 2011 he was appointed manager of the Cork Institute of Technology senior hurling team. Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in Gaelic football played in Ireland. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016.
