Khyber Pass
The Khyber Pass (خیبر درہ) is a mountain pass in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, on the border with the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. It connects the town of Landi Kotal to the Valley of Peshawar at Jamrud by traversing part of the White Mountains, Afghanistan, White Mountains. Since it was part of the ancient Silk Road, it has been a vital trade route between Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent and a Military strategy, strategic military choke point for various states that controlled it. Following Asian Highway 1 (AH1), the summit of the pass at Landi Kotal is inside Pakistan, descending to Jamrud, about from the Afghan border. The inhabitants of the area are predominantly from the Afridi and Shinwari (Pashtun tribe), Shinwari tribes of Pashtuns. The Khyber
The Khyber Building is a registered Historical Property owned by the Halifax Regional Municipality on Barrington Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Until 2014, it was operated as an artist-run centre, public art gallery and social space by Khyber Arts Society (The Khyber Centre for the Arts), which is now located at 1880 Hollis St. History 1588 Barrington Street, was originally erected as The Church of England Institute in 1888. It was designed by architect Henry Busch in the Victorian style with Gothic Revival features. The building was commissioned by Bishop Hibbert Binney. Other buildings designed by Busch in Halifax include the Halifax Academy and the Halifax Public Gardens Bandstand. In 1994, the City of Halifax put out an RFP (Request for Proposal) for the building, but only received a few offers. ''More'' is the third studio album and first soundtrack album by English rock band Pink Floyd. ''Carry On Up the Khyber'' is a 1968 British comedy film, the 16th in the series of 31 ''Carry On'' films (1958–1992). ''Khyber Mail'' was a daily newspaper published from Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The news service was discontinued in 1989, and the company provided print services. However it has now restarted in late 2020 and is undergoing test prints at the moment. Sheikh Sanaullah was the founder editor of ''Khyber Mail'', the first English newspaper of the then NWFP that he started from Peshawar in 1932. He was an eminent journalist who began his career as a sub-editor in daily 'Muslim Outlook", Lahore. He worked as a special correspondent of several Indian and foreign newspapers. Khyber District
Khyber District ( ps, خېبر ولسوالۍ, ur, ) is a district in Peshawar Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. Until 2018, it was an agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas; with the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it became a district. It ranges from the Tirah valley down to Peshawar. It borders Nangarhar Province to the west, Orakzai District to the south, Kurram District to south west, Peshawar to the east and Mohmand District to the north. The major clans in District Khyber are Shinwari, Afridi, Mulagori and Shalmani. The majority of Afridis live in Khyber Agency, Dara Adam Khel, Kohat and Peshawar.
