Khargapur Assembly constituency is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. This constituency came into existence in 1967, following the delimitation of the Legislative Assembly constituencies and it was reserved for the candidates belonging to the scheduled castes from 1967 to 2008. 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term, the INC fought for winning the state after 2003. The election led to a hung assembly, with the INC emerging as the single largest party and the BJP winning the popular vote. 2013 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
A Legislative Assembly election was held on 25 November 2013 in Madhya Pradesh, India, with the result announced on 8 December. Along with four other state assembly elections, these were the first elections in which the Election Commission of India (ECI) implemented a "None of the above" (NOTA) voting option, allowing the electorate to register a neutral vote but not to outright reject candidates. In a first, the Election Commission of India also appointed Central Awareness Observers, whose main task was to oversee voter awareness and facilitation. Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held in November 1998. The Indian National Congress won a majority of seats and Digvijaya Singh was sworn in as the new Chief Minister for the second time. These were the last elections to the legislative assembly before the passage of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000, which carved out the new state of Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh. Nathu Ram Ahirwar (1 July 1923 – 5 December 2013) was an Indian politician, social leader, former Education minister and educationist from the village of Bhamoura Khas in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Former minister of Madhya Pradesh and senior Congress leader, he died at his ancestral village Bhamoura Khas here following brief illness.
