Khamgaon (Vidhan Sabha Constituency)
Khamgaon (Legislative Assembly constituency) is one of the 288 constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha and one of the seven which are located in the Buldhana district. It is a part of the Buldhana (Lok Sabha constituency) along with five other Vidhan Sabha(assembly) constituencies, viz. Buldhana, Chikhali, Sindkhed Raja, Mehkar and Jalgaon(Jamod). The seventh Malkapur Assembly constituency from the Buldhana district is a part of the Raver (Lok Sabha constituency) from neighbouring Jalgaon district. As of 2008, the extent of the constituency comprised the entire Khamgaon taluka and part of the Shegaon taluka with the Jalamb, Pahurjira and Matargaon revenue circles. The remaining part of the Shegaon taluka along with the Shegaon Municipal Council is in the extent of the Jalgaon (Jamod) Assembly constituency. Buldhana District
Buldhana district (Marathi pronunciation: ulɖʰaːɳa is located in the Amravati division of Maharashtra, India. It is situated at the western border of Vidarbha region and is 500 km away from the state capital, Mumbai. The district has towns and cities like Shegaon, Jalgaon Jamod, Malkapur, Khamgaon, Lonar, Mehkar, and Chikhli. It is surrounded by Madhya Pradesh in the north, Akola, Washim, and Amravati districts on the east, Jalna district on the south, and Jalgaon and Aurangabad districts on the west. Khamgaon is the largest city in the district. Latitudes are 19.51° to 21.17° N and longitudes are 75.57° to 76.59° E. Buldhana district holds religious significance as it is the site of the Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple, Shegaon. Jalgaon (Jamod) Assembly Constituency
Jalgaon (Jamod) Assembly constituency is a constituency of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha. It located in the Buldhana district. It is a part of the Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency. The Malkapur Assembly constituency in Buldhana district is a part of Raver from the neighbouring Jalgaon district. As of 2008, the constituency includes Sangrampur tehsil, Jalgaon(Jamod) tehsil and part of Shegaon tehsil, consisting of Shegaon and Manasgaon revenue circles and Shegaon Municipal Council. The remaining part of Shegaon tehsil is in Khamgaon Assembly constituency. The constituency was established in 1951 as the then Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) constituency located in the Buldhana district. However it was dissolved for the 1957 elections to Mumbai state. It was re-established for the 2009 state elections in Maharashtra.
