Khaidi (1983 Film)
''Khaidi'' () is a 1983 Indian Telugu-language action film directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. It stars Chiranjeevi and Madhavi. The film is loosely based on the 1982 American film ''First Blood''. Released on 28 October 1983, the film was a massive commercial success and Chiranjeevi rose to stardom. In 1984, it was remade in Hindi as '' Qaidi'', and in Kannada under the same title, with Madhavi reprising her role both times. Plot Veerabhadraiah is a feudal lord presiding over a village along with his henchmen, which include his assistant and the village sarpanch. Veerabhadraiah lends money to Venkateswarlu, a local farmer living with his widowed daughter. His son Suryam is a hard working student living in the nearby city and he falls in love with Veerabhadraiah's daughter – Madhulatha. Rallapalli Venkata Narasimha Rao (15 August 1945 – 17 May 2019), popularly known as Rallapalli, was an Indian actor known for his works primarily in Telugu films and television. He received two state Nandi Awards. Life and career Rallapalli Venkata Narasimha Rao was born in Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh in 1945. He started off his career in 1960 as a theatre artist before marking his movie debut in 1974 with ''Sthree''. He acted in about 850 films in a variety of roles, including that of a lead actor. He also worked as a staff artiste in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He played pivotal roles in films such as ''Bombay'' and ''Minsara Kanavu'' in Tamil. Death Rallapalli died on 17 May 2019 at Maxcure Hospital, Hyderabad following ill health. Veturi Sundararama Murthy (29 January 1936 – 22 May 2010), known mononymously by his surname Veturi, was an Indian poet, lyricist and journalist who is popular for writing Telugu songs. His career in the Telugu cinema spanned more than four decades. He was highly admired and cherished for his deep and thoughtful lyrics in Telugu songs. Early life Veturi was born to Chandrasekhar Sastry and Kamalamba in Pedakallepalli, near Challapalli, Krishna into a Telugu Brahmin family. Naramalli Sivaprasad (10 June 1951 – 21 September 2019) was an Indian film actor turned politician, belonging to Telugu Desam Party. In the 2009 election he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Chittoor constituency in Andhra Pradesh. He dressed himself up in many roles in protesting against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state. Kurumaddali Lakshmi Narasimha Rao (7 August 1947 – 16 September 2012), better known by his stage name Suthi Velu, was an Indian actor and comedian known for his works in Telugu cinema. He has acted in more than 200 films, and won four state Nandi Awards. Early life Suthi Velu's father was a teacher. From an early age he was interested in drama and also developed an interest in acting. He then decided to take up acting seriously. At the age of 7, he had given a stage performance in his town. His father discouraged him and asked him not to show interest in acting. He started his film career with ''Mudda Mandaaram'' (1981), and acted in many of Jandhyala's films, which made him famous.
