Kevin Smart (speedway Rider)
Kevin Graham Smart (born 17 October 1958) is an English retired footballer. He played as a defender in the Football League between 1976 and 1980 for Plymouth Argyle and Wigan Athletic, making a total of 81 appearances scoring one goal. Thereafter he played for non-league clubs in Kent. Career Smart, who had come through the youth ranks at Plymouth Argyle played 9 matches, aged 18, for the club in the Second Division in the latter part of the 1976–77 season. Plymouth were relegated that season and Smart was a regular starter during the first part of their 1977–78 campaign in the Third Division. However, in the second half of the season he was unable to command a first choice place with "The Pilgrims" and at its end was made available for a free transfer. During the summer of 1978 he signed with Football League newcomers Wigan Athletic. The 1989–90 Southern Football League season was the 87th in the history of the league, an English football competition. Dover Athletic won the Premier Division but were not promoted due to ground grading issues and a place in the Football Conference was taken by runners-up Bath City. Four bottom clubs were relegated to the Southern and Midland divisions, while champions and runners-up of lower divisions get a places in the next Premier Division season. Kent Football League
The Southern Counties East Football League is an English football league established in 1966, which has teams based in Kent and Southeast London. Until 2013, it was known as the Kent League. There was a previous Kent League, that existed from 1894 to 1959. History The first Kent League was formed in 1894 and folded in 1959. Despite many of the same clubs having spells in membership, there is no direct connection between the two competitions. The current incarnation of the league was formed in 1966 as the Kent Premier League (changing to Kent Football League in 1968), and in its early years many of its members were reserve sides of Southern League teams. Gradually, the reserve sides were all shifted down into the lower divisions. Kent Senior Cup
The Kent Senior Cup is an English football competition played between senior clubs in the county of Kent. It is administered by the Kent County Football Association. History The Kent Badge preceded the Kent Senior Cup, and was won in its three-year history by Chatham. This competition was replaced by the Kent Senior Cup in 1889. Between 1894 and 1897 the cup was awarded to the Kent League champions. Past winners of the Kent Senior Cup include Royal Arsenal (now Arsenal) in 1889–90, and Gillingham in 1945–46 and 1947–48; the two sides are now members of the Premier League and Football League respectively. The 2013–14 Kent Senior Cup marked the 125th anniversary year of the competition, with the first match having been played in 1889. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions.
