Kevin J. Green (born June 18, 1970) is a Michigan politician. Early life and education Kevin Green was born on June 18, 1970, to parents Joe and Colleen Green. He grew up in Wakefield, Michigan, and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. He also earned a master's degree in public administration from Grand Valley State University. In 1994, Green interned for the city manager of Cedar Springs, Michigan. Career Green worked as a business manager for Toys "R" Us. In 1995, Green became the real estate and community relations manager of the Western Michigan region for Viacom Outdoor. Green is a member of the Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. In 1999, Green started to serve as a Wyoming city council member. 2014 Michigan Senate Election
Elections for the Michigan Senate was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, with partisan primary elections to select the party's nominees held on August 5. All 38 seats in the Michigan Senate were contested, and those elected will serve in the 98th and 99th Michigan Legislatures. This was the first election for the Michigan Senate contested under the constituency boundaries drawn in consequence of the 2010 U.S. Census. The election resulted in the Republicans expanding their majority to 27 seats over the Democrats 11 seats. Peter F. MacGregor (born February 24, 1966) is a Republican politician from Michigan currently serving as the Kent County Treasurer. He previously served in the Michigan Senate representing the 28th district and also was a former member of the Michigan House of Representatives representing northern Kent County. Michigan's 28th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 28th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Democratic Samir Singh since 2023, succeeding Republican Mark Huizenga. Michigan Senate
The Michigan Senate is the upper house of the Michigan Legislature. Along with the Michigan House of Representatives, it composes the state legislature, which has powers, roles and duties defined by Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963. The primary purpose of the Legislature is to enact new laws and amend or repeal existing laws. The Michigan Senate is composed of 38 members, each elected from a single-member district with a population of between approximately 212,400 to 263,500 residents.
