Kerosene Salesman's Wife
''Kerosene Salesman's Wife'' (russian: Жена керосинщика) is a 1988 Soviet drama film directed by Alexander Kaidanovsky. Plot The film tells about two brother doctors, one of whom operated on a boy, and the other assisted him. A blood transfusion was necessary and the surgeon poured the boy blood of the wrong group, as a result of which the boy died, and the brothers' life changed. The first became a kerosene salesman, the second - the chairman of the City Council. Alexander Kaidanovsky
Alexander Leonidovich Kaidanovsky (russian: Алекса́ндр Леони́дович Кайдано́вский; 23 July 1946 — 3 December 1995) was a Soviet and Russian actor and film director. His best known roles are in films such as ''At Home Among Strangers'' (1974), '' The Bodyguard'' (1979) and '' Stalker'' (1979). Prior to pursuing an acting career, Kaidanovsky attended technical college where he was training to become a welder. In 1965 he started studying acting at The Rostov Theatre School and the Schukin Institute in Moscow. Before completing the course he took his first part in the film ''The Mysterious Wall'' (1967) and upon graduation in 1969, he worked as stage actor. In 1985 he directed ''A Simple Death'', which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival. Kaidanovsky made his theatre debut at the Vakhtangov Theatre in 1969. Aleksandr Nikolaevich Baluev (russian: Алекса́ндр Никола́евич Балу́ев; born 6 December 1958) is a Soviet and Russian theatre and film actor who appeared in more than 100 films and numerous stage productions since 1980. Life and career Aleksandr Baluev was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He graduated in 1975 from Moscow School № 637. After unsuccessful attempts to enter the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute he worked for a year as assistant illuminator in the light department at Mosfilm. The second attempt was more successful, with Aleksandr entering the Moscow Art Theatre School on Pavel Massalsky's course. In 1980, he successfully completed the training and became an actor of the Soviet Army Theatre.
