Keratsini Football Club ( el, Α.Π.Ο. Κερατσίνι) is a Greek football club based in Keratsini, Piraeus, Greece. It plays in Piraeus local championship (EPS Piraeus). History Keratsini was founded in 1926 by Mpiskos and Diatsigkos with the name AO Neapoli, who later became ESKO IE, one of the Union Clubs Keratsini Orfeas. It was one of the four founding clubs of Piraeus FCA. In 1926, the team settled in Keratsini, renamed Athletic Football Club (Keratsini). The Club took its final form in 1968 by merging with AO Amfiali. In 1991, the Keratsini first reached the Fourth Division and in 1994 in Gamma Ethniki. In 1994, the team lost the Greek Amateur Cup final on penalties (5-4). The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. From season 2013–14, the football League 2 is merged by fourth division championship (Delta Ethniki) and renamed again Gamma Ethniki. The new third division will be held in six groups, with the clubs divided basis of geographical criteria, while it will return in an amateur form. 2021–22 Gamma Ethniki
The 2021-22 Gamma Ethniki is the 39th season since the official establishment of the championship in 1983, and the first after the reestablishment as the 3rd tier of the Greek Football. It will start on 23 October 2021. After the finish of the seven groups, the champion of each group will qualify for a playoff round, to determine which four teams will be promoted to 2022–23 Super League 2. 81 teams are divided into seven groups according to geographical criteria. Keratsini
Keratsini ( el, Κερατσίνι) is a suburb in the western part of the Piraeus regional unit, part of the Athens Urban Area. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Keratsini-Drapetsona, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. Geography Keratsini is situated on the Saronic Gulf coast, northwest of Piraeus and about west of Athens city centre. The municipal unit has an area of 7.601 km2. The coastal area consists mainly of port facilities, part of the Port of Piraeus. Culture Keratsini has its own non-professional choir (mixed voices, SATB). It has participated many times in festivals all around Greece. The town has its own choir festival called international song festival. The Piraeus Football Clubs Association ( el, Ένωση Ποδοσφαιρικών Σωματείων Πειραιώς, abbreviated E.P.S.P. (Ε.Π.Σ.Π.) was founded in 1925 after the termination of E.P.S. Athens-Piraeus. It was the second largest football association in Greece and was officially recognized by FIFA alongside E.P.S. Athens, as the Hellenic Football Federation had not been established at the time. After the establishment of Alpha Ethniki it became the Piraeus Football Clubs Association for amateurs. History Olympiacos participated in Piraeus Championship from the first time in 1925, immediately after its inception. They were invincible and won the final defeating Piraikos with 4-2.
