Kerala Sahitya Akademi
The Kerala Sahitya Akademi or Academy for Malayalam literature is an autonomous body established to promote the Malayalam language and Malayalam literature, literature. It is situated in City of Thrissur, Kerala in India. History The academy was inaugurated on 15 October 1956, by Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the former king of Travancore, in Thiruvananthapuram. It was shifted to its present location at City of Thrissur in September, 1957. Though the Kerala Government provides the funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is autonomous according to its constitution. P. Surendran (born 4 November 1961) is an Indian writer, columnist, art critic and a philanthropist. He has published over 30 books, including works of fiction, travelogues and general writings, in Malayalam and also a collection of short stories in English.He was a Malayalam teacher at Kumaranellur School, Palakkad district. He is a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award (2003, 2013). Early life P. Surendran was born in Pappinippara, Manjeri, Kerala to Kumaran Nair and Sarojini Amma. He has two sisters and a brother. His family later shifted to Vattamkulam near Edappal. He did his schooling from Edappal. He is currently working in Kumaranellur School, Palakkad district. Santhosh George Kulangara (born 25 December 1971) is an Indian television producer, director, broadcaster, publisher, and traveler. He is the founder and managing director of Safari TV, a channel dedicated to travel and history-based programmes. Kulangara also serves as the head of Labour India Publications, an educational publisher based in Marangattupilly.
