Kentucky Route 251 (KY 251) is an state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky, split into two sections. The highway connects Elizabethtown and Fort Knox with rural areas of Hardin County; the second section, separated from the first by Fort Knox, is near Belmont in Bullitt County. Elizabethtown is a home rule-class city and the county seat of Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 28,531 at the 2010 census, and was estimated at 30,289 by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2019, making it the 11th-largest city in the state. It is included in (and the principal city of) the Elizabethtown–Fort Knox, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Louisville/ Jefferson County–Elizabethtown–Madison, Kentucky-Indiana Combined Statistical Area. Kentucky Route 61 (KY 61) is a long Kentucky State Highway extending north from the Tennessee state line in Cumberland County to Columbia in Adair County through to Greensburg in Green County. From there, the route traverses LaRue, Hardin and Bullitt counties to terminate in Jefferson County (where it is commonly signed as Preston Street or Preston Highway) at the junction of U.S. Route 31E (East Main Street) in downtown Louisville. Some routes, such as Kentucky Route 80, are both primary and secondary, with only a segment of the route listed as part of the primary system. Kentucky Route 434 (KY 434) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The highway connects mostly rural areas of Hardin and Bullitt counties with Radcliff, Fort Knox, and Lebanon Junction. Route description KY 434 begins at an intersection with South Wilson Road in the south-central part of Radcliff, within the north-central part of Hardin County, where the roadway continues as Medical Center Drive. Kentucky Route 3005
Kentucky Route 3005 serves as a northern bypass of Elizabethtown. Locally, it is known as Ring Road. It originates outside the western limits of Elizabethtown at an interchange with Western Kentucky Parkway. The road then takes a wide circuit to the north of the city, eventually entering the city limits. Its eastern terminus is at U.S. 62, here known as Mulberry Street, within the city limits and approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Interstate 65. Elizabethtown High School
Elizabethtown High School is located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States. A part of Elizabethtown Independent Schools (EIS), it is commonly referred to as E'Town High School or EHS. Elizabethtown High School ranked #7 in the state on the 2009 spring exam. The school has a population of 775 students and employs about 50 teachers. Thad Elmore has been the principal since July 1, 2021. Through the 2019–20 school year, it served high school students in West Point, and therefore was a feeder high school of the West Point Independent School District, which only covered grades K–8. Fort Knox
Fort Knox is a United States Army installation in Kentucky, south of Louisville and north of Elizabethtown. It is adjacent to the United States Bullion Depository, which is used to house a large portion of the United States' official gold reserves, and with which it is often conflated. The base covers parts of Bullitt, Hardin and Meade counties. It currently holds the Army Human Resources Center of Excellence, including the Army Human Resources Command.
