Kennesaw State Owls Women's Basketball
The Kennesaw State Owls women's basketball team represents Kennesaw State University in the sport of College basketball. They are a mid-major team in the NCAA Division I, and compete in the ASUN Conference. The Owls host their opponents at the KSU Convocation Center, nearby to their Kennesaw Campus. They are coached by Octavia Blue. History The Owls began play in 1982. They played in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and Georgia Intercollegiate Athletics Conference from 1982 to 1994. In their time in the NAIA, they made the NAIA playoffs seven times while compiling an all-time record of 204–143. They transitioned from NAIA to Division II from 1992 to 1994. In their time in Division II, they made the Elite Eight in 1997 and 1999 along with an appearance in the second round in 2000, with an all-time record of 222–98. Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a public research university located in the state of Georgia with two different campuses in the Atlanta metropolitan area, one in Kennesaw and the other in Marietta on a combined of land. The school was founded in 1963 by the Georgia Board of Regents using local bonds and a federal space-grant during a time of major Georgia economic expansion after World War II. The 1999 NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament was the 18th annual tournament hosted by the NCAA to determine the national champion of Division II women's collegiate basketball in the United States. Two-time defending champions North Dakota defeated Arkansas Tech in the championship game, 80–63, to claim the Fighting Sioux's third consecutive and third overall NCAA Division II national title. The 1993 NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament was the tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its Division I members in the United States and Canada for the 1992–93 basketball season. Defending champions Arkansas Tech defeated Union (TN) in the championship game, 76–75, to claim the Golden Suns' second NAIA national title. The tournament was played at the Oman Arena in Jackson, Tennessee. Qualification The tournament field remained fixed at thirty-two teams, with the top sixteen teams receiving seeds. The SFU Red Leafs or Simon Fraser Red Leafs teams (formerly the Simon Fraser Clan) represent Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of NCAA Division II and are the only Canadian university affiliated with the U.S.-based National Collegiate Athletic Association. The 1992 NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament was the 12th annual tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its members in the United States and Canada and the first held exclusively for the programs in its newly established Division I. A separate tournament was held concurrently by the NAIA for the teams sorted into Division II. North Dakota Fighting Sioux Women's Basketball
The North Dakota Fighting Sioux women's basketball team is part of the athletic program at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It is a member of the NCAA Division I Summit League; the 2019-2020 season was their first in the new conference.
