Kendrapara (Sl. No.: 97) is a Vidhan Sabha constituency of Kendrapara district, Odisha. This constituency includes Kendrapara, Kendrapara block and 12 Gram panchayats (Alapua, Taradipal, Penthapal, Andara, Baluria, Amrutamanohi, Nilakanthapur, Balipatana, Narasinghpur, Badamulabasanta, Dihapada and Singhagan) of Pattamundai block. Odisha (English: , ), formerly Orissa ( the official name until 2011), is an Indian state located in Eastern India. It is the 8th largest state by area, and the 11th largest by population. Radhakanta Sethy
Radhakanta Sethy (born in 1959/1960) is an Indian politician and trade unionist. Sethy is the son of Binakar Sethy. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pattamundai College in 1982. He lives in Banto, Kendrapara district. Sethy was elected to the Orissa Legislative Assembly in 1990. He stood as a Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate in the Pattamundai seat, obtaining 35,861 votes (43.96% of the votes in the constituency). He was the sole CPI(M) candidate elected to the assembly. Sethy left the CPI(M), and on 19 September 1991 he requested to be recognised as an independent assembly member. He subsequently joined the Orissa Communist Party, and on 4 March 1992 he requested to be recognised an OCP member in the assembly. 2009 Odisha Legislative Assembly Election
The 2009 Odisha Legislative Assembly election took place in April 2009, concurrently with the general election. The elections were held in the state in two phases. The results were declared on 16 May. Despite having recently separated from the Bharatiya Janata Party after an eleven-year partnership, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) retained power in the Odisha State Assembly with a more convincing majority. Party chief Naveen Patnaik was formally re-elected as the BJD Legislature party leader on 19 May, thus paving the way for his third consecutive term as the Chief Minister of Odisha. Praja Socialist Party
The Praja Socialist Party, abbreviated as PSP, was an Indian political party. It was founded when the Socialist Party, led by Jayaprakash Narayan, Rambriksh Benipuri, Acharya Narendra Deva and Basawon Singh (Sinha), merged with the Kisan Mazdoor Praja Party led by J. B. Bhagabat Prasad Mohanty (27 November 1929 – 8 December 2019) was an Indian politician and lawyer from Odisha belonging to Indian National Congress. Utkal Congress was a political party in the Indian state of Odisha. It was formed in 1969 when Biju Patnaik left Indian National Congress. After the 1971 Odisha elections UC took part in the Bishwanath Das ministry in the state. In 1974 Utkal Congress merged into Bharatiya Lok Dal. Background Odisha was a stronghold of Congress in immediate post independence era. However factionalism was rife. Bed Prakash Agarwal
Bed Prakash Agarwal (died April 20, 2019) was an Indian politician. Biography Agarwal was of Marwari descent and a native of Patkura. He was a member of the Kendrapara municipal council from 1957 to 1970, when he began serving as chairman of the municipality. He left office in 1974 to contest the Kendrapara seat in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, and was seated as a representative of the Utkal Congress. Agarwal switched affiliations to the Janata Party and was reelected in 1977. He grew close to Biju Patnaik, joined the Janata Dal for the 1990 elections, and served as finance minister within Patnaik's government. Following Patnaik's death in 1997, Agarwal contested the 2000 Odisha legislative elections as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
