Allin Kempthorne
Allin Kempthorne (born 1972) is a British actor, magician and entertainer. As a magician he works under three distinct identities as Alan Thorn, Professor Strange (with which he appeared on the television show Britain's Got Talent) and Gizmo. He was originally a tabloid newspaper cartoonist. He directed and starred in the comedy film ''The Vampires of Bloody Island'' and was shortlisted in the 2012 Twitter Shorty Awards. Career Kempthorne started his career as a joke writer and cartoonist for '' The Sun'', '' The Mirror'', and ''News of the World'' newspapers. Dirk Kempthorne
Dirk Arthur Kempthorne (born October 29, 1951) is an American politician who served as the 49th United States Secretary of the Interior from 2006 to 2009 under President George W. Bush. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a United States Senator from Idaho from 1993 to 1999 and the 30th governor of Idaho from 1999 to 2006. Kempthorne was first elected to public office as Mayor of Boise in 1985, where he served for seven years. He serves as a co-chair of the Democracy Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center. John Kempthorne (Royal Navy Officer)
Sir John Kempthorne (c. 1620 – 19 October 1679) was an officer in the English Royal Navy during the Second and Third Anglo-Dutch Wars, who eventually rose to the rank of Vice-Admiral. Childhood and early years Kempthorne was born the second son of John Kempthorne, an attorney of Ugborough, Devon, and his wife Agnes Simon. Little is known about the younger Kempthorne's early life, but his father was a Royalist supporter and had served as a cavalry officer in the English Civil War. While his father was in the military, the younger John Kempthorne embarked on a life at sea. He began his career as an apprentice to the master of a vessel sailing out of Topsham. He soon moved up the ranks and took command of a number of ships of the Levant Company, trading in the Mediterranean. John Kempthorne (hymnwriter)
John Kempthorne (24 June 1775, Plymouth Dock, Devon – 9 November 1838, Gloucester) was an English clergyman and hymnwriter. Life He was the son of Vice-Admiral James Kempthorne (1735–1808). He graduated from St John's College, Cambridge as Senior Wrangler and Smith's Prizeman in 1796, and was elected fellow of St John's from 1796 to 1802. In his church career he was a protegee of the Hon. Henry Ryder, Bishop of Gloucester from 1815 to 1824 and Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry from 1824 to 1836. Kempthorne was Vicar of Northleach (1816–38), vicar of Preston (1817–20), Rector of St Michael's and St Mary-de-Grace, Gloucester (1825–38), chaplain to the Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry (1824–38) and Prebendary of Lichfield (1825–38). He was an evangelical hymn-writer, credited with composing '' Praise the Lord, ye heavens adore him''. He was opposed to fairs and public entertainments. The architect Sampson Kempthorne was his son. John Augustine Kempthorne
John Augustine Kempthorne (26 May 1864, London – 24 February 1946, Trumpington, Cambridgeshire) was an Anglican Bishop in the first half of the twentieth century. John Augustine Kempthorne was the son of the Rev. John Kempthorne (1835–1880), Vicar of Trumpington. He was educated at Haileybury and Trinity College, Cambridge, achieving a 1st class degree in Classical Tripos in 1886, and a Master's degree in 1890. His first post after ordination was as a curate at St Aidan’s, Gateshead. He then held incumbencies at Rochdale, Sunderland, Liverpool, and Hessle, before elevation to the episcopate in March 1910 as Bishop of Hull, a Suffragan to the Archbishop of York. He was appointed the 93rd Bishop of Lichfield in May 1913, and retired in 1937. A Christian pacifist, Kempthorne believed war was inconsistent with Christianity. Oscar Kempthorne (January 31, 1919 – November 15, 2000) was a British statistician and geneticist known for his research on randomization-analysis and the design of experiments, which had wide influence on research in agriculture, genetics, and other areas of science. Born in St Tudy, Cornwall and educated in England, Kempthorne moved to the United States, where he was for many decades a professor of statistics at Iowa State University. Patricia Kempthorne (born November 1, 1953) was the First Lady of Idaho from 1999 to 2006 as the wife of Governor Dirk Kempthorne. As first lady she was active in issues affecting children and families in Idaho and took the lead in assisting state government with children's policy. She is a former First Lady of Boise, Idaho (1986–1993). In March 2006, President George W. Bush nominated Governor Kempthorne to be the United States Secretary of the Interior.
