William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin
William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin, (26 June 182417 December 1907) was a British mathematician, mathematical physicist and engineer born in Belfast. Professor of Natural Philosophy at the University of Glasgow for 53 years, he did important work in the mathematical analysis of electricity and formulation of the first and second laws of thermodynamics, and did much to unify the emerging discipline of physics in its contemporary form. He received the Royal Society's Copley Medal in 1883, was its president 1890–1895, and in 1892 was the first British scientist to be elevated to the House of Lords. Absolute temperatures are stated in units of kelvin in his honour. While the existence of a coldest possible temperature ( absolute zero) was known prior to his work, Kelvin is known for determining its correct value as approximately −273.15 degrees Celsius or −459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. Kelvin Hopkins
Kelvin Peter Hopkins (born 22 August 1941) is a British politician. He was first elected as the Labour Member of Parliament for Luton North in 1997. Hopkins was suspended by the Labour Party in 2017 after allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him in the 2017 Westminster sexual misconduct allegations. Hopkins did not stand for re-election in the 2019 general election. Hopkins is a supporter of pro-Brexit group Leave Means Leave. Kelvin LeRoy Bryant (born September 26, 1960) is a former American football running back in the National Football League and the United States Football League. High school Bryant played two years of varsity football at Tarboro High School in Tarboro, N.C.. In the 10th grade as a player on the Junior Varsity team he was invited to move up to varsity but endeared himself to his team by choosing to remain with the Junior Varsity squad. His 10th grade team was 8-1, his 11th grade (varsity team) was 6-4 and as a senior the Tarboro Vikings were 10-0 in the regular season claiming the conference championship and ranked number 1 in the state in the 3A classification. Kelvin Benjamin
Kelvin Benjamin (born February 5, 1991) is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at Florida State and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He also played for the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. After totaling over 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie season, Benjamin missed his sophomore year with a torn ACL. He returned in 2016 and caught 941 yards and seven touchdowns. Midway through 2017, Benjamin was traded to the Bills and appeared in six games with the team. Kelvin Anderson (born February 4, 1972) is a former professional gridiron football player. As a running back, he rushed for over 1,000 yards in eight consecutive seasons in the Canadian Football League, a league record. Kelvin James Wilson (born 3 September 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Ilkeston Town. Kelvin Mateus de Oliveira (born 1 June 1993), known simply as Kelvin, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a right winger for FC Ryukyu in J2 League. Kelvin Lomax
Kelvin Lomax, or Kelvin Trippier, (born 12 November 1986) is an English footballer. He plays as a defender. He started his career in the youth team at Oldham Athletic before working his way through to the first team. He went on loan spells with Rochdale and Chesterfield during his time with the "Latics". After seven years with Oldham's first team, he was released and he subsequently signed for Shrewsbury Town. After one season with Shrewsbury, he was released and he dropped down to non-League to play for Barrow and then Hyde. Kelvin Steven Langmead (born 23 March 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays for Kettering Town. He began his career as a striker, but since September 2006 has been employed as a central defender, most notably for Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town. Kelvin Kyron Jack CM (born 29 April 1976) is a Trinidadian former professional football goalkeeper who is goalkeeping coach at Dover Athletic. Kelvin Peter Etuhu (born 30 May 1988) is a Nigerian former professional footballer. Etuhu has two older brothers, Dickson Etuhu, also a professional footballer, and Michael Etuhu. He played as a striker or as a winger. Club career Early career Etuhu joined Manchester City's academy when he was fourteen. Kelvin Davis (footballer)
Kelvin Geoffrey Davis (born 29 September 1976) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He began his career with Luton Town as a youth player in 1991 and remained there until 1999. Davis later played for Wimbledon, Ipswich Town and Sunderland before moving to Southampton in 2006. Davis was team captain of Southampton from 2009 to 2012, after which he became club captain. From July 2016 to December 2017, Davis had been working as part of the support staff at Southampton.
