Kelsterbach Station
Kelsterbach station is the station of the town of Kelsterbach in the German state of Hesse on the Main Railway (german: Mainbahn) from Mainz to Frankfurt. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. History Kelsterbach station was built in 1863 at the intersection of the national roads to Mörfelden and Rüsselsheim, at the 23.8 km point of the Main Railway. Since the rail line was built north of the edge of the Kelsterbach fluvial terrace, it was well outside the centre of the village when it was opened. Since 1972, a line has branched off here towards Frankfurt Airport Regional station. Lines S8 and S9 of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn now stop at a modern centrally located covered platform. Kelsterbach () is a town in Groß-Gerau (district), Groß-Gerau district in Hessen, Germany and part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Regional Authority, Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. Sandstone
Sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized (0.0625 to 2 mm) silicate grains. Sandstones comprise about 20–25% of all sedimentary rocks. Most sandstone is composed of quartz or feldspar (both silicates) because they are the most resistant minerals to weathering processes at the Earth's surface. Hessian Ludwig Railway
The Hessian Ludwig Railway (German: ''Hessische Ludwigsbahn'') or HLB with its network of 697 kilometres of railway was one of the largest privately owned railway companies in Germany. Early history The Hessian Ludwig Railway was a product of the failed – or, more accurately, non-existent – railway politics in the Grand Duchy of Hesse. Rhine-Main S-Bahn
The Rhine-Main S-Bahn system is an integrated rapid transit and commuter train system for the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region, which includes the cities Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Offenbach am Main, Hanau and Darmstadt. The network comprises nine S-Bahn lines, eight of which currently travel through the cornerstone of the system, a tunnel (the "City Tunnel") through central Frankfurt.
