Kelenföld Railway Station
Kelenföld railway station (Hungarian: ''Kelenföldi vasútállomás or incorrectly Kelenföldi pályaudvar'', and until 2007 officially Budapest-Kelenföld) is Budapest's fourth busiest railway station (after Keleti pu, Déli pu and Nyugati pu). Opened in 1861, it is situated south-west of the city centre, in Újbuda or District XI in the suburb Kelenföld. Today, Kelenföld is an extremely busy station, with almost all passenger and freight services operated by Hungarian Railways towards Transdanubia passing through. The station is served by Kelenföld vasútállomás metro station and is the terminus of the Line 4 of the Budapest Metro which opened on 28 March 2014. Next to the station there is a suburban Volánbusz bus terminal. Budapest Keleti Railway Station
Budapest Keleti (Eastern) station ( hu, Keleti pályaudvar) is the main international and inter-city railway terminal in Budapest, Hungary. The station stands where Rákóczi út splits to become Kerepesi Avenue and Thököly Avenue. Keleti pályaudvar translates to ''Eastern Railway Terminus''. Its name in 1891 originates not only for its position as the easternmost of the city's rail termini, but for its original role as a terminus of the lines from eastern Hungary including Transylvania, and the Balkans. In contrast, the Nyugati (''western'') railway station used to serve lines toward Vienna and Paris. Architecture The building was designed in eclectic style by Gyula Rochlitz and János Feketeházy and constructed between 1881 and 1884. Kelenföld Vasútállomás Metro Station
Kelenföld vasútállomás (Kelenföld railway station) is the western terminus of Line 4 of the Budapest Metro. The station was opened on 28 March 2014 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Keleti pályaudvar to Kelenföld vasútállomás. The station, located under Kelenföld railway station and across some of the busiest railroad tracks in Budapest, can be reached through an underpass. This was the former terminus of express bus lines 7E and 107E, which allowed passengers arriving by train to continue traveling to Pest or southern Buda. EuroNight, abbreviated EN, is a European train category which denotes many main-line national and international night train services within the Western and Central European inter-city rail network. Wien Westbahnhof (Vienna West station) is a major Austrian railway station, the original starting point of the West railway (''Westbahn'') and a former terminus of international rail services. In 2015, its role changed with the opening of Vienna's new main station and Westbahnhof now is mainly a commuter station and the terminus of private rail operator WESTbahn's intercity service from Salzburg. Lehár (train)
The ''Lehár'' was an express train between Budapest, Hungary, and Vienna, Austria. Introduced in 1979, it was the first eastern European train to become a EuroCity service, Brunhouse (1989). in 1988. The train was operated by the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). It was named after Franz Lehár (1870–1948), an Austro-Hungarian composer. It was replaced by a Railjet service in 2008. History The ''Lehár'' first ran in 1979. The following year, a trip on the train was featured in "Changing Trains", the final episode in Series 1 of '' Great Railway Journeys of the World'', a BBC TV travel documentary. EuroCity
EuroCity, abbreviated as EC, is a cross-border train category within the European inter-city rail network. In contrast to trains allocated to the lower-level "IC" (InterCity) category, EC trains are international services that meet 20 criteria covering comfort, speed, food service, and cleanliness. Each EC train is operated by more than one European Union or Swiss rail company, under a multilateral co-operative arrangement, and all EC trains link important European cities with each other. The EuroCity label replaced the older Trans Europ Express (TEE) name for border-crossing trains in Europe. Whereas TEE services were first-class only, EuroCity trains convey first and second class coaches. München Hauptbahnhof or Munich Central Station is the main railway station in the city of Munich, Germany.
