A souvenir (), memento, keepsake, or token of remembrance is an object a person acquires for the memories the owner associates with it. Gift books, literary annuals, or keepsakes were 19th-century books, often lavishly decorated, which collected essays, short fiction, and poetry. They were primarily published in the autumn, in time for the holiday season and were intended to be given away rather than read by the purchaser. They were often printed with the date of the coming new year, but copyrighted with the actual year of publication. History Gift books first appeared in England in the 1820s. Keepsake (band)
Keepsake was an American emo/screamo band formed in 1997 by Paul Geller, Mark Silva and Duane Hosein in Coral Springs, Florida. Hosein joined the band An Acre Lost (which changed name to Poison the Well in 1998) and ultimately had to quit Keepsake. He was replaced by Shane Halpern, former vocalist of An Acre Lost. After releasing three albums and EP on the independent label, Eulogy Recordings and Fearless Records, Geller left the band for personal reasons. He also produced three records for RED Music-distributed Undecided Records artists Shindig, Hearts Over Rome and Cru Jones. Geller moved into digital music and worked as EVP of Information Products at Grooveshark. Jesse Kriz was later a part of Actions Speak Louder and Until the End. ''Keepsake'' is a third person point-and-click adventure game developed by Canadian company Wicked Studios for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows platforms. The player plays as the main character Lydia. The quest starts that Lydia investigates what happened to Dragonvale Academy as she was on her way to meet a friend there, as she arrived she noticed that the academy was deserted. Although the game was met with mixed reviews, the developers endeavour to improve the game by releasing patches. ''Keepsake'' is the debut studio album by Australian musician Hatchie, released on 21 June 2019, through Double Double Whammy, Ivy League and Heavenly Recordings. Heavy Heart are a British alternative rock band formed in 2014 in London. They are notable for writing, recording and releasing a new song each month of 2016, all of which then appeared on their 2017 debut ''Keepsake''. History Heavy Heart was initially formed at the start of 2014 in south-east London as a three-piece by Anna Vincent (vocals, guitar), James Vincent (guitar) and Patrick Fitzroy (guitar). They expanded the line-up later that year with the addition of Adam Williams (bass guitar) and Craig Brown (drums). The band self-released a demo cassette tape in 2014, following this in 2016 with a project which involved writing, recording and releasing a new song online every month throughout the year. Kathleen Larisch and Carol McComb are American singers and instrumentalists, who performed together in the 1960s as Kathy and Carol. As a duo, they released an acclaimed 1965 folk song album on Elektra Records, before pursuing separate careers. They have reunited to perform together on several occasions in recent years. Early career and recordings Kathy Larisch and Carol McComb began singing together when in high school at Vista, California, in the early 1960s. They both played guitar and autoharp, and claimed influences from Joan Baez, Gene Autry, and Tex Ritter, among others. It is available either as a double CD or as a limited edition double CD and DVD set (the DVD containing the band's videos and television performances). ''Handwritten'' is the fourth studio album and major label debut by American rock band the Gaslight Anthem, released on July 20, 2012, through Mercury Records. Produced by Brendan O'Brien, the album was preceded by its lead single, " 45", and features liner notes by Nick Hornby. Writing As of July 2010, Brian Fallon said he was working on new material for a fourth album. Subsequently, Fallon stated on his blog that the band would start writing their record in January 2011.
