Keegan Pereira (field Hockey)
Keegan Reginald Pereira (born September 8, 1991) is an Indian-born Canadian field hockey player, who plays as a midfielder or forward for the Canadian national team. Club career Pereira played for the Victoria Vikes and UBC Thunderbirds before he moved to Europe to play for Royal Wellington in Belgium. In 2016, he moved to Germany to play for Uhlenhorst Mülheim, with whom he won two Bundesliga titles. International career He competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. In 2016, he was named to Canada's Olympic team. Pereira has played in two World Cups, in 2010 and 2018. In June 2019, he was selected in the Canada squad for the 2019 Pan American Games. They won the silver medal as they lost 5–2 to Argentina in the final. In June 2021, Pereira was named to Canada's 2020 Summer Olympics team. 2022 Men's Pan American Cup
The 2022 Men's Pan American Cup was the sixth edition of the Men's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial international men's field hockey championship of the Americas organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was planned to be held alongside the women's tournament from 7 to 22 August 2021 in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago. However, following the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to July and August 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled and on 4 September 2020 the hosts Trinidad and Tobago withdrew from hosting the tournament. In November 2020, Pan American Hockey Federation announced that the cup was going to be held from 20 to 30 January 2022 in Santiago, Chile. Argentina were the defending champions, winning the 2017 edition. They defended their title as they won the tournament for the fourth time by defeating the hosts Chile 5–1 in the final. Canada competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's debut in 1900, Canadian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the country's support for United States-led boycott. The 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup was the 12th edition of Men's Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation. It was held from 28 February to 13 March 2010 in New Delhi, India. Australia won the tournament after defeating Germany 2–1 in the final, collecting their second World Cup, after the title obtained in 1986. The Netherlands won the third-place match by defeating England 4–3. Background India's hosting of the event was put in doubt when the FIH reviewed the progress of the Indian Hockey Federation's "Promoting Indian Hockey" program and India's preparation for the championship, and warned that "satisfactory progress had not been made in either area". The Men's FIH Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1971. It is held every four years, bridging the four years between the Summer Olympics. Pakistan is the most successful team, having won the tournament four times. The Netherlands and Australia have each won three titles, and Germany has won two titles. Belgium and India have both won the tournament once. The 2018 tournament was held in Bhubaneswar, India from 28 November to 16 December.
