Brian Keeble is a British author and editor. He is the founder of Golgonooza Press and a co-founder of the ''Temenos'' and Temenos Academy. Biography Keeble is the founder of Golgonooza Press where he worked as editor, designer and publisher from 1974-2004. He was a co-founder and is a Fellow of the Temenos Academy - whose Patron is Charles, Prince of Wales - which is a teaching organization dedicated to the same central idea that had inspired the earlier ''Temenos'', of which he was a co-founder and editor (1980–1991). John Bell Keeble
John Bell Keeble (May 13, 1868 – October 10, 1929) was an American attorney and academic administrator. He represented the Louisville and Nashville Railroad for 28 years, and he served as the dean of the Vanderbilt University Law School from 1915 to 1929. Early life John Bell Keeble was born on May 13, 1868, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. His father, Edwin Augustus Keeble, served in the Congress of the Confederate States during the Confederate States of America, and his maternal grandfather, John Bell, served as a United States congressman and senator. Keeble was educated at the Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, and he graduated from Vanderbilt University, where he earned a bachelor of laws in 1888. When Chancellor Landon Garland invited John Sherman to speak on campus, Keeble led a pro-Confederate protest to the sound of '' Dixie''. Keeble Observatory
Keeble Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Randolph-Macon College. It is located in Ashland, Virginia (USA), named for Dr. William Houston Keeble, distinguished Professor of Physics at Randolph-Macon College from 1919 until his retirement in 1952. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the American Physical Society, the American Association of Physics Teachers, the American Astronomical Society, and was a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The first structure was opened in 1963 and housed a 12-inch Newtonian telescope. This building was razed in 2016. A new taller structure went into service the following year and houses a 40cm Ritchey-Chretien. Keebles Hut is an alpine hut located in New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the Geehi flats area, north of Dead Horse Gap and a short walk from the main Geehi Hut and camp area. The hut was built in 1942 by Snowy Miller, Alex Milovitch, Arthur Keeble and Dr Hubert Smith for Arthur and Flo Nankervis as a fishing lodge. ''Keeble v Hickeringill'' (1707) 103 ER 1127 is a famous English property law and tort law case about rights to wild animals. Facts Samuel Keeble (the plaintiff) owned property called Minott's Meadow, which contained a pond outfitted with nets and channels in a manner used to catch large numbers of commercially viable ducks. This type of pond served as a sort of "duck trap" and was known as a decoy. Tame ducks were used to lure their wild counterparts into the decoy. On three occasions, defendant Edmund Hickeringill, while on his own land, discharged firearms toward Keeble's pond in order to scare away the ducks. Judgment Chief Justice Holt sustained the action of trespass on the case, because every person has the right to put his property to use for his own pleasure and profit. Victor Albert Williams Keeble (25 June 1930 – 29 January 2018) was an English footballer who played as a centre-forward for Colchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham United. Early life Victor Albert Williams Keeble was born 25 June 1930 to Victor Keeble (1907-1977) and Minnie Rose Warner. Keeble attended Colchester Royal Grammar School, where his preferred sport was rugby, playing as a stand-off half. Sally Curtis Keeble (born 13 October 1951) is a British Labour Party politician. She was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Northampton North from the 1997 to 2010 general elections, when she lost her seat to the Conservative Party candidate Michael Ellis. She had previously been Leader of Southwark Council from 1990 to 1993. Keeble stood as Labour's candidate for her former constituency in the three elections following her 2010 defeat, losing on all three occasions to Ellis. Early life Keeble went to the independent Cheltenham Ladies' College, and later attended St Hugh's College, Oxford, gaining a BA degree in Theology in 1973, and a BA in Sociology from the University of South Africa in 1981. Wing Commander (rank) Noel Keeble (6 April 1892—4 June 1963) was a British flying ace of the First World War, credited with six aerial victories. First World War Keeble entered the Royal Naval Air Service as a probationary flight sub-lieutenant, and on 2 August 1915 was confirmed in his rank of flight sub-lieutenant for temporary service. He was assigned to a squadron in No. 1 Wing, based at Saint-Pol-sur-Mer, Dunkirk, and gained his first victory while flying a Nieuport. On 25 January 1916 he forced down a German seaplane off Nieuwpoort. His second victory did not come until 23 October when, flying a Sopwith Pup, he destroyed another seaplane off Nieuwpoort. Marshall Keeble
Marshall Keeble (December 7, 1878 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee – April 20, 1968 in Nashville, Tennessee) was an African American preacher of the church of Christ, whose successful career notably bridged a racial divide in an important American religious movement prior to the Civil Rights Movement. Over the course of his 50-year career as a gospel preacher, he was credited with starting almost every African-American church of Christ in the state of Tennessee. Keeble enjoyed an almost unrivaled position as an African-American subject of hagiography, hagiographical biography by white contemporaries within the church of which Keeble was a member. A notable example of this is ''Roll Jordan Roll'' by fellow minister and longtime Keeble associate, J. E. Choate.
