Kavi Subhash Metro Station
The Kavi Subhash Metro Station, formerly New Garia Metro Station, is the southern terminal station of the Kolkata Metro Line 1 (North-South Corridor) of Kolkata Metro in Kolkata, India. It is named after poet Subhash Mukhopadhyay. This station was opened to public on the auspicious day of Mahalaya in 2010. This metro station is at ground level and located adjacent to New Garia railway station on the Sealdah - Sonarpur section. The station will eventually become the southernmost terminal of the Kolkata Metro Line 6 (Bypass Corridor) of Kolkata Metro. EM Bypass
The Eastern Metropolitan Bypass (known simply as both ''E.M. Bypass'' and ''EM Bypass'') is a (Including Kamalgazi to Baruipur extension) major road on the east side of Kolkata. It connects Ultadanga (North Kolkata) to Baruipur Puratan Bazar (South Kolkata). The road is a major link to Salt Lake and New Town. EM Bypass is part of both State Highway 1 and State Highway 3. Much high-end construction and development in Kolkata has been centred around the Bypass. VIP Road (officially Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue) is a major thoroughfare connecting the city of Kolkata with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Dumdum/Kolkata Airport. Located in the North-Eastern outskirts of the city, it was built in 1962 to provide speedy connection with the city and its sole airport. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Dakshineswar Metro Station
Dakshineswar metro station is the northern terminal station of the Kolkata Metro Line 1. The metro station adjoins the platforms of the Dakshineswar railway station where connections can be made with Indian Railways services. History A northward extension from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar (6.20 km .85 mi was sanctioned and included in the 2010–11 budget at a cost of ₹227.53 crore (equivalent to ₹411 crore or US$58 million in 2019). Construction for the station and the section started in 2017. In December 2017, the metro line to the Dakshineswar station was projected to be operational by May 2019.
