Katie-Jemima Yeats-Brown
Katie-Jemima Yeats-Brown (born 5 July 1995) is a British judoka who trains full-time at the British Judo Centre of Excellence in Walsall. Early life and education Yeats-Brown is from Pembury, Kent. She graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 2023 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. Judo career Yeats-Brown competed for England in the event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a bronze medal. She is a three times champion of Great Britain, winning the middleweight division at the British Judo Championships in 2016 and 2017 and the half-heavyweight title in 2018. In 2018, she finished fifth in the 2018 World Judo Championships in Baku, when ranked world 32 on IJF ranking list. Compeign in the women's 78 kg category she lost to Guusje Steenhuis Guusje Steenhuis (born 27 October 1992) is a Dutch judoka. British Judo Championships
The British Judo Championships are held annually and feature various age and weight categories to determine the British champion. The Championships are currently held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. Until 2013, the Championships were held under the title of either the British Closed Championships or the British Senior Trials. In 2013, the British Closed Championships/Senior Trials were merged with the all-age British Championships. The 2020 Championship was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Judo competitions at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, were held from 1 to 3 August 2022. This was the fifth time the sport has been on the program, since it was introduced as a demonstration sport in 1986, and made official at the next edition in 1990. Its second appearance within England specifically, spread across fourteen weight categories.Unlike other international competitions where each country can only enter one athlete per weight. Each participating country can enter up to 2 participants per weight.The sport will give two bronze medals,one for the winner from repechage and another for the athlete who won the third place event.
