Catherine Evelyn Smith (25 April 1947 – 16 August 2020) was a Canadian occasional backup singer, rock groupie, drug dealer, and legal secretary. Smith served 15 months in the California state prison system for injecting original ''Saturday Night Live'' cast member John Belushi with a fatal dose of heroin and cocaine in 1982. Smith had been paid for a front-page headline story in the Hollywood tabloid the ''National Enquirer'', where she stated she was the person who injected Belushi with a fatal drug overdose. Smith co-wrote the book ''Chasing the Dragon'' (1984) which told her life story; its title alludes to Smith's heroin addiction. Smith appeared prominently in the Bob Woodward book '' Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi'' (1984) and was played by Patti D'Arbanville in the 1989 film adaptation. Kathy Smith (born December 11, 1951) is an American personal trainer who became well known for her workout videos during the late 1980s and 1990s. She has sold over 16 million workout videos since 1980. Her exercise and nutrition program ''Project:You! Type 2'' was created in association with the American Diabetes Association as a complete lifestyle system to help manage Type 2 diabetes. Early life Smith was born in Arizona. She is the daughter of an Air Force pilot, and grew up in Brazil, Alabama, Hawaii, Texas and Illinois. When Smith was 17, her father died of a heart attack, and a year and a half later her mother died in a plane crash. Following the loss of her parents, Smith began exercising to combat depression. The Isle of Wight Festival 1970 was a music festival held between 26 and 31 August 1970 at Afton Down, an area on the western side of the Isle of Wight in England. It was the last of three consecutive music festivals to take place on the island between 1968 and 1970 and often acknowledged as the largest musical event of its time, with a larger attendance than Woodstock. Although estimates vary, ''Guinness World Records'' estimated 600,000 to 700,000 people attended. It was organised and promoted by local brothers, Ron and Ray Foulk through their company Fiery Creations Ltd and their brother Bill Foulk. Ron Smith was site manager and Rikki Farr acted as compere. Cathy Gilliat-Smith (born 19 March 1981, also known as Cath Nicholson) is an English international field hockey player who played as a forward for England and Great Britain, achieving 64 international caps. She currently plays club hockey in the Investec Women's Hockey League Premier Division for East Grinstead.
