Kathputli (1957 Film)
''Kathputli'' () is a 1957 Pygmalion Black-and-white Hindi-language film produced by Ajit Chakraborty and Amiya Chakrabarty with their Sreerangam Productions. The film was the last film of director Amiya Chakrabarty, who had earlier directed Basant, Daag and Seema. He died during the filming and Nitin Bose took up the mantle of director in the film. The film stars Vyjayanthimala and Balraj Sahni in the lead with Jawahar Kaul, Agha, Kumari Kamala, C. S. Dubey, Sheela Kashmiri, Poonam and Laxman Rao, forming an ensemble cast. The film's music was composed by the Shankar Jaikishan duo, with the lyrics by Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri. Amiya Chakravarty (director)
Amiya Chakravarty (30 November 1912 – 6 March 1957) was an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, who was leading film director in Hindi cinema of the 1940s and 1950s. He is noted for films like ''Daag (1952 film), Daag'' (1952), ''Patita (1953 film), Patita'' (1953), and ''Seema (1955 film), Seema'' (1955) for which he won the 4th Filmfare Awards, 4th Filmfare Award for Filmfare Award for Best Story, Best Story. Chakravarty is also credited along with Devika Rani for discovering Dilip Kumar, whom he gave his first break in 1944 film Jwar Bhata (1944 film).Chakravarty also produced and directed Daag (1952 film) in 1952 for which Dilip Kumar won his first ever Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Chandrashekhar Dubey
Chandrashekhar Dubey (4 September 1924 – 28 September 1993) commonly referred to as C. S. Dubey was an Indian actor and radio personality. He was born in Kannod and appeared in over 150 Hindi films as a character actor starting in 1950s, with ''Patita (1953 film), Patita'' (1953) and ''Mr. & Mrs. '55'' (1955). He became famous for his one-liner "Dhakkan khol ke" in the film, ''Zinda Dil'' (1975), which he later used in his radio programs, as a suffix with almost every sentence. Life Dubey was active in the Quit India movement for which he was imprisoned. He then moved to Bombay to work as an actor. He was also known as a social worker who helped poor students pay for their education. A ''raga'' or ''raag'' (; also ''raaga'' or ''ragam''; ) is a melodic framework for improvisation in Indian classical music akin to a melodic mode. ''Yahudi'' (), is a 1958 Hindi-language action drama film directed by Bimal Roy. It starred Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Sohrab Modi, Nazir Hussain, Nigar Sultana and others. It was based on the play ''Yahudi Ki Ladki'' by Agha Hashar Kashmiri, a classic in Parsi-Urdu theatre, about persecution of Jews in the Roman Empire. ''Basant Bahar'' (), directed by Raja Nawathe, is a 1956 Indian film. This musical had nine outstanding songs, with lyrics written by Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri; and music composition by Shankar–Jaikishan. In contemporary literary studies, a theme is a central topic, subject, or message within a narrative. Themes can be divided into two categories: a work's ''thematic concept'' is what readers "think the work is about" and its ''thematic statement'' being "what the work says about the subject".
