Kathleen Brown
Kathleen Lynn Brown (born September 25, 1945) is an American attorney and politician who served as the 29th Treasurer of California from 1991 to 1995. Brown unsuccessfully ran for Governor of California in the 1994 election. Early life and education Brown was born in San Francisco, the youngest of four children of former California Governor Pat Brown (1959–1967). She is the youngest sister of twice-California Governor Jerry Brown (1975–1983, 2011–2019). Brown is a graduate of Stanford University and Fordham University School of Law. Political career Brown was elected to the Los Angeles City Board of Education in 1975, then re-elected in 1979. She was a member of the Los Angeles Board of Public Works from 1987 to 1989. Kathleen Margaret Brown
Kathleen Margaret Brown was the first woman in the Church of Ireland to be ordained to full-time ministry. Brown was curate under Brian Courtney at St. Nicholas', Carrickfergus, and remained in the parish from 1988 until 1992 when she was instituted as rector at St. Paul's Parish Church, Belfast. During her time there, however, the parish amalgamated with the local parish of St. Barnabas in 1992 and stands today as the parish church of St. Paul and St. Barnabas, York Street. Along with Irene Templeton, Brown was ordained by Samuel Poyntz, Bishop of Connor, on 24 June 1990. In 2000 she was made a canon of St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast. Brown retired from full-time ministry in 2007. She is currently pastoral minister to the widows of clergy in the Diocese of Connor, Brown received the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the community in Northern Ireland in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2007. Kathleen Browne
Kathleen Anne Browne (1 October 1876 – 9 October 1943) was an Irish politician, farmer, writer, historian and archaeologist. She was arrested after the Easter Rising and held in Kilmainham Gaol. During the Civil War, she was Pro-Treaty and joined Cumann na nGaedheal. She was a member of Seanad Éireann from 1929-36. She was a fluent speaker of Yola, an Anglic language of Wexford. Early life Browne was born on 1 October 1876 to Michael Browne, a farmer, shopkeeper and local politician, and Mary Eleanor Stafford. She was the eldest of five children. Her father's family was of Norman extraction and had lived at Rathcronan Castle since the 13th century. Her mother's family lived in Baldwinstown Castle, County Wexford. Michael Browne was a poor law guardian and a member of Wexford's first County Council. He supported Home Rule and had worked with Charles Stewart Parnell. Kathleen Browne (artist)
Kathleen Browne (1905 – 14 May 2007) was a New Zealand-born artist and teacher who established her artistic career in the United Kingdom. Biography Browne was born in Christchurch in New Zealand and studied at the Canterbury College School of Art between 1920 and 1924. Browne taught in New Zealand before, in 1931, moving to England where she trained at the Chelsea School of Art during 1932 and 1933 and then at the Royal College of Art in 1934. In 1947 she won a bronze medal at the Paris Salon. Browne taught art at various school and colleges until 1949 when she established her own school with her future husband the artist Marian Kratochwil, (1906-1997), in Chelsea. In 1950 she was part of a three-artist exhibition at the Prince Galitzine Gallery. She retired from teaching in 1979 to focus on her own painting, particularly of portraits. Kathleen Campbell-Brown (1903–1996) was a lecturer in French at the University of Queensland for almost 30 years. Early life Kathleen Mildred Jean Campbell-Brown (1903–1996) was born in Kings Norton, Worcestershire, England, the eldest daughter of George Frederick and Jean Campbell-Brown. After the family migrated to Australia in 1911, Campbell-Brown attended Leichardt Street Girls School in Spring Hill, Brisbane and Brisbane Girls Grammar School. She earned one of the 20 scholarships to attend the University of Queensland in 1921. She earned her B.A. with Honours in classics and ancient history in 1924.
